Initially It’s all about serving volume at this place and not about customer service at all. We are vegetarian and since nothing was available except for the pasties, we got the ricotta one. The pasty crust wasn’t baked and it smelled so weird that we had to talk to the manager about it. Guess what? The manager told us to deal with it as they don’t care about if individual customers like it or not. Oh I certainly never expected this from the top rated restaurant. Usually back in other places, we get an apology and ask if we like something else along with some more details about what was wrong. Then finally Mr Filmon came to us and spoke about it and replaced it with an alternative vegetarian option for our satisfaction. He brought in another colleague of his who was really apologetic about what happened to us. This is now turning to be more customer centric. I really only appreciate his and her services m. He ensured almost everyone around there was happy with whatever they have got in and shared loads of suggestions. Such a jovial personality and I am sure he deserves a huge appreciation and promotions may be. Hopefully I would like the food next time I pop over.

Mastrociccio might have the appearance of a fast-food chain with its loud, chaotic atmosphere and self-service with pickup at the counter, but the moment I put my teeth in the food, I quickly realized this place is awesome! The panino "u pulp" with cooked octopus was simply amazing. The octopus was cooked to perfection with a meaty texture, and the combination with the dried tomato and the soft burrata was delicious. And not to forget, the appearance of the octopus tentacle in the black bun (made of semolina with squid ink) was unique and mouth-watering. I tried to combine two other local specialty dishes by ordering a panzerotto (deep-fried small "calzone" pizza) filled with spaghetti all'assassino in spicy tomato sauce. The crispy dough tasted great in combination with the mildly spicy sauce and cheese. Be careful though that you don't burn your mouth, because it is quite hot!

After trying several panini from the Puglia region of Italy I can say that the ones that are sold here are very very far from being good. This fast-food restaurant managed to turn something simple, fresh and pleasant into a bad quality fast food experience. What are the reasons for my review? *Sandwiches are pre-made, which ends with one of the main reasons why Panini can be good, they have them in exhibition (not sure for how long) and they just heat them before giving it to you. *the ingredients are not fresh, not high quality, like you can expect from a +10 euro sandwich in Italy (check the photos of this review),personally I saw the store manager cooking using already used oil from a dirty glass jar. The capocollo used is one of the worst I ever tried in Italy, just saltiness and no flavour. *the bread of course is not mushy/crunchy since was there already cutted for a long time, many other local shops offer better bread. Besides the sandwich the installations are not good, there are more seats than space for people, there is no soap of any kind in the bathroom and it is not clean at all. My advice is to go away from Bari hypes and to explore the small towns where you will find much better quality food. The owner can reply but there is nothing here to say, you can see the photos and the almost-puke sensation after 9 days of excellent Pugliese food is one of the worst. Why having that much employees you cannot train them for making the sandwiches on demand...

Server was very nice and spoke English relatively well. He got my father's order wrong, but it happens, it was still fine so we didn't want to bother them by complaining as it was clearly quite busy. Be prepared to wait a while The dishes, orecchiette al'assassina and orecchiette cime di rapa (the failed order)were made an menu on displayed stoves. I can definitely see how good the dishes are if they're your thing. No gourmet meal, but definitely a pretty good experience, I just can't stand pasta, but I promised I'd try it. Even i can say it was intense flavours and very fresh ingredients Server cleaned trays the moment they'd been used, and kitchen looks clean considering it was the middle of the day Chef himself was seated, taste testing what I assume is new bread recipes. Always awesome to see

The best “fast food” I had in my entire life. We went there twice. First we had octopus sandwich, sandwich with ricotta and ham and aperol spritz. Octopus was melting in mouth - it was really delicious and worth the price for such a big portion of it. However, in overall assessment the sandwich with ricotta and ham was even more tasty than octopus sandwich. Ricotta cheese was perfectly delicious. Aperol spritz was also very good. During our second time there we had burrozza with mortadella and two kinds of panzerotti - one with cheese and one with pork. I highly recommend every dish we had there, definitely a place to visit while in Bari! One issue though was that there was a huge line and the staff wouldn’t allow us to enter in order to see and choose earlier the food that we were going to order.

Queued for 30 minutes to order, ordered a APERIPUGLIA APERITIF and a SMART MENU which (should have) come with 1x Panzerotto , 1x Puppets (dough balls) and 1x beer or soft drink. Waited 20 minutes for food to arrive, the Aperitif arrived correctly, however, we got only a Panzerotto and a bottle of water, not what we had ordered. Tried explaining to the server (we had already handed over our receipt to get the food) that we were waiting for a beer and puppets, she showed me somebody else’s receipt and told me I’d have to queue up again and reorder the beer and puppets. Disgraceful customer service, we were ripped off unfortunately. €6.90 for an average Panzerotto and a bottle of water. There are plenty of other places with far better food nearby, highly recommend you avoid this place.
