Mediterranea — Restaurant in Bari

Indifferent and rude service. I ask if pasta followed by pizza too much, I'm hungry. But assured pasta enough, to order poor value pasta with 1/2 ltr or red wine. Pasta arrives immediately, modest portion. I eat slowly and even then have to ask after my wine. They supply white. Eventually red when pasta almost eaten. So now I have 1/2 litre of wine with no fiod. So I ask for a pizza quattro stagioni to have with wine. They say no pizza, only expensive fish etc secondi. I see a rip off! So I ask for bill when convenient. It comes up immediately when still half my wine to drink. I just happen to struggle getting wallet out of jeans in cramped seat, and rather than the waiter busy themselves by doing something else, they hover menisingly over me! They won't be getting any tip - nor my money, as it is my last day and was willing to splash out!...

I would never come back here. The food was ok. But the service was awful. There were two servers one nice and the one we got. We felt unwellcomed from the start. The staff gave us the menu and he was very impatient with us to even read it. Eventually he came and i wanted some tonic from the menu and he was rude in his reply. I got that he didn't have it so i just asked water insted. Never got it, but since i also did not have to pay for it, it's ok. When we finished eating, he came back and was over us like a hawk so we'd leave. Maybe it was closing time, he said nothing. We spoke no words, and service was lacking. At the end he gave us the bill with a 2 E service fee. This made me feel abused and shamed. It's unplesant and i hope this won't happen to others. We had a limited time before we took our ferry so we stopped here just for the parking. The waiter convinced us to try the seafood and fish, which was horrible. The octopus was boiled and then just fried for a few seconds in a pan. Terrible taste. The fish had no taste. After this wrong order, we thought, perhaps we have to try the pizza.
