Guru — Restaurant in Bergamo

Best in Bergamo. Well,it was a very cold evening with the minus temperature outside. After walking around a little bit in the city center i started looking a place for dinner. I had heard some positive reviews about Guru from my Italian friends so i decided to try. when i entered the restaurant the first thing i felt was a very warm atmosphere. Believe me its not very easy to find a place with enough heating in the Bergamo. This place was perfectly warm to spend time while eating.I was greeted with a very warm welcome and immediately given a table. The manager took my order in a very friendly way. I was served with Papardams right after the order. Not after very long time my starters arrived and it didn't take too long to arrive my main order. From papardams to the Masala tea everything was perfectly cooked and was very tasty. i had tried other similar restaurants in the city but without any doubt this place has the best Indian food in the Bergamo with an excellent service ,beautiful atmosphere and affordable price. As i was alone, the manager maintained friendly small talks with me during whole time. i could easily understand that he was giving me a company so i wont feel alone. I could see many locals were enjoying their time in groups and couples and I could hear that they loved the food while speaking with each others when no staff was around. We had dinner here last night and loved it, the owners were very kind and helpful too. We choose several plant based dishes with rice and bread and everything tasted delicious and wonderfully fresh. We’ve tried several Indian restaurants in Bergamo and decided this is the best. Obviously being a little further from the center means it probably doesn’t get as many reviews but don’t be put off, it’s really well worth walking just that little...

Food was delicious. But we didnt like that he opened the water bottle without asking us and at the counter charging us 3 Euro. We didnot ask for that and we would not order it if he didnt open it without asking. Also, prices are so high compared to portion. We took garlic nan, garlic was not cooked properly.
