Felt Like a Scam – Unjustifiably High Prices and Unclear Menu

I recently visited "La Caffetteria Di Porta Nuova" and left feeling completely ripped off. I regret not checking the reviews beforehand, as many others have shared similar experiences about the outrageous pricing and lack of transparency.

The menu was inconsistent—some items had prices listed, but many did not.

When I went to pay the bill, I was shocked to see how much I was being charged for items that had no pricing displayed. This lack of clarity feels intentional and borderline scam-like, the whole experience left me feeling taken advantage of.

While the staff were generally polite, the overall experience was overshadowed by the feeling of being scammed.

What’s even more concerning is that I feel this bar targets non-locals, as they seem to charge excessively high prices to people who aren’t from the city. I strongly advise everyone—locals and tourists alike—to be cautious when visiting this bar.

The prices are unjustifiable, and the lack of transparency is unacceptable. I won’t be returning and would recommend looking elsewhere for a better and more honest experience.

Questo bar di Via Tiraboschi negli ultimi anni è tornato a lavorare tantissimo. Talmente tanto che sembra quasi convinto di poter fare quello che vuole. Peccato che più clientela non significhi automaticamente più qualità. Prezzi fuori rotta: un cappuccino qui costa 1,90 €. Altrove lo paghi 1,60 o 1,70. Con quella differenza mi aspetto un cappuccino talmente buono da farmi dimenticare il resto del mondo. Invece, la realtà è un cappuccino normalissimo. Paghi di più… e bevi uguale. Scontrini fantasma: il personale è gentile, sorridente, accogliente. Poi però, con turisti e passanti, lo scontrino diventa un miraggio. “Ops, mi sono dimenticato”… certo. Servizio al tavolo: lo fanno pagare, come è giusto. Ma qui il sovrapprezzo ha livelli da ristorante stellato, e lo si scopre solo quando arriva il conto. Clima tropicale (letteralmente): l’aria condizionata è un concetto astratto. Entri e ti sembra di essere in serra tropicale. Peccato che brioches e croissant siano lì, esposti, immersi nel caldo.
