Ruggine — Restaurant in Bologna

Strange experience. There were guests seated outside, and then a very large party in the back. We went up to the bar, which has stools, and asked the bartender if we could sit there. He said no. Nothing else. We went back to the front and asked the woman if we could have drinks… she said we have classic cocktails like Negroni or spritz. We asked for a table and we were seated. No menu offered. We got a beer and a spritz.

Another person comes in and sits at the bar. 5 minutes earlier we weren’t allowed to sit there.

We excused the service because of the large party. The bartender and server were obviously in the weeds. The large party leaves and nothing changes. We sat there for an hour and couldn’t get anyone to look at us. Other servers came in for their shift, and still no luck.

I was excited to come here but easily the worst experience of our trip.

Now that I’m reading other reviews this seems to be a trend. I’m interested to see if the person that responds to the reviews somehow makes...

I stopped in for an afternoon drink, and the atmosphere of the place was fun and lively with a real local vibe. The staff, understandably, seemed a bit worn out, likely due to a busy afternoon with several larger groups earlier in the day. After receiving our first drinks, the service slowed down a bit, and we felt somewhat overlooked, even though we were seated right at the bar. We were planning to order another round, but after about 10 minutes of the staff noticing us, smiling, and then walking away, we decided to signal for the check instead.

Despite this, I’m still inclined to give this spot another try. It’s clear they were understaffed and possibly just in need of a breather. I’m confident this was a rare hiccup in what is otherwise a great experience, and I’m looking forward to returning when things are a...

The decoration was pretty nice. We went for lunch and the place wasn’t very busy. They made a mistake with our order at first but they corrected very quickly. The food was not the best but ok. The server was at first very friendly but as the time went on she progressively became rude. At the next table there was a couple (probably her friends). She came and grabbed the Parmesan cheese (she placed on our table) very rudely and gave it to them. Further more she never offered us any bread (all the others had bread on the table without asking for it). She very rudely (again) came to clean our table without asking us if we were finished, with result to take my friends fork. She did the same thing with our glasses. It was very obvious that she wanted us to leave. I would not recommend it...
