We were uncertain about coming here, but so happy that we did. It was the best meal we had on our trip. It seems that most highly rated restaurants treat their gluten free customers and menu options as an afterthought, but not at La Capriata.

Accredited gluten-free (senza glutine) by the AIC (Associazione Italiana Celiachia), nearly everything is available gluten free, and it’s all delicious. The fresh, warm “puffy” bread appetizer was to die for. The stuffed tortellini is homemade in the restaurant, which you can witness if you come at the right time of day. The veal cutlet, a local specialty, also gluten free. And the deserts too (“rice cake” was good). If you are looking for a gluten free dining experience in Bologna, this is it.

Should also mention that the server took time even though she was very busy to prepare a table outside for us. We stayed for over two hours and a half hours enjoying ourselves and the atmosphere. It’s tucked away in a quiet corner of a very energetic neighborhood. Location is awesome and easy to walk around even late at night. I would not hesitate to come back here anytime. Hope you get...

My wife and I were stunned this place has anything lower than a 5 on the reviews as this easily was our favorite food while in Bologna! Went here twice while visiting and was not disappointed either time. We came here because of this place being tucked away from the busy streets and decided we would take a chance on it. We did not regret that decision at all. We had Chiara as our waitress both times and she was the perfect balance of attentive but also not bugging us to death. I was really impressed with her knowledge of the menu and the recommendations she gave. The first time I had the lasagna with ragu, which would end up being the best one I had throughout my stay. My wife had her favorite dish of Bologna here as well which she had the tortellini en brodo. The dessert was fantastic too, but unfortunately forgot to take pictures for the review. We enjoyed our dinner and wine over many hours and were not led to feel like a burden throughout either meal. Next time we come to Bologna, this will absolutely be our first stop. * Price we paid is an estimate as we ordered quite a few bottles of wine...

Insanely good. Staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating. The food was truly delicious. Tagliatelle ragu had such a deep flavour, the pasta itself was delicous! Pea flan and 4 cheeses was amazing! Balanzoni!!! God damn

Coeliacs / gluten free beware - you will spend all your money and need bigger trousers! Entire menu available gluten free, at no extra charge (dot of basalmic vinegar on the plate to show gf). My partner cried it was so good, blows away any pasta in england (obviously) and any other gf pasta we've had over a month touring italy!

Desserts! Again all gluten free, we had a 'taste of 4' desserts. Which was 4 whole desserts, all fantastic. Had them the next day for breakfast as we were just too full!

Restaurant itself was quite quiet, we sat out the back in a covered garden. Delightful!

Some American tourists sat down, seemed confused over gf and left. I stopped them on their way out to say what a mistake they were making and that it was all amazing and gf a plenty. They did not heed my warning. They did not weep tears of joy over their meal. Do not be...
