I’m reviewing the restaurant as I have just been eating there and never had drinks at the (overly crowded) bar. The location is fascinating and a soft lighting enhances the decorated wall and ceilings in such a way that puts you in the right mood to enjoy a romantic dinner. They squeeze you in a real bistrot-size table (well, you ask ‘bistrot’ and you get it) and the dinner gets started. A skilled and gentle waiter explains extensively every single dish. The menu is interesting and tickles your palate in every possible way... the stakes are high, but the food doesn’t disappoint the expectations. We have ordered à la carte and had various different dishes, all elaborate and interesting as per taste and texture. And all very refined combinations of tradition and contemporary techniques. Don’t even dare ask for tortellini, this isn’t the place for that. The whole dinner, despite the noisy crowd in the adjacent bar area, is very pleasant and never lets you down except for a very unfortunate dessert - crumble with blue cheese, which I highly recommend to avoid as one would steer away from a lab experiment gone wrong. It happens! I would return...
Read moreGreat cocktails in a chill environment. A stellar resto too! On a pedestrian drag by Sette Chiese, one part of this is a decidedly hipster-ish cocktail bar which gets most everything right. The environment is chill, it's not too loud, there are plenty of little tables to sit at, and all in all, it's fun. The front/bar area is pretty tiny, but that makes it just a bit more intimate, and the bartenders are just the right amount of friendly at that. The cocktails are good. Like, real good. There is a coctail-menu, with a bunch of (fun!) stuff on it, but once you've been a couple of times, you should try and go off-piste (and the bar-staff will be more than happy to help out!). The food, OTOH, is outstanding. Like, seriously seriously awesome. It's (mostly) classic bolognese cuisine, but with just enough of a twist to make it remarkably awesome. When you add in the friendly service, exceptional wine list, and an ever-changing menu, you really couldn't...
Read moreJust happened upon this establishment and was contemplating an evening aperitif when I viewed the magnificent bar with its crystal chandelier and candelabras. I was imbibing a delicious cocktail from the expansive beverages menu when I noticed the inviting dining area and asked to view the menu. There was a wide variety of dining choices to suit all tastes so I enquired about a table. Although, fully booked they managed to find a table for me and it was well worth the short wait. A complementary hors d'oeuvres was served prior to my selection arriving in a timely manner and was delicious and well presented. The convivial atmosphere added to the ambience of the room enhancing the wholly enjoyable experience. Supported by the friendly multilingual staff I would highly recommend this establishment to anybody,...
