The setting is enchanting, a little piazza shaded by vines among Bosa’s colourful houses. The food was fine - good seafood and local vino bianco. The service was comically terrible.
While we were asking the waiter about a table an Italian man came over and began speaking to the waiter as though I was invisible. The waiter left off speaking with me to seat this man and his partner without so much as an ‘excuse me’.
When we were seated it was pleasant to wait in such a nice setting and of course it is not unusual in Italy to wait quite a while before anyone comes near you to take an order, but after 45 minutes I eventually asked the waitress if we could order when she had a moment. She answered curtly and went off again. Meanwhile the rude Italian chap and his wife and another party had long ago had their order taken and been served.
We were attended to eventually but with great frostiness. It was funny overall but really rather...
Read moreOur experience here was shockingly bad. A starter arrived with three thin sad looking slices of tomato. (€10...) 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our main meals while everyone around us ate. The waiting staff did not come over to explain why our meals were delayed, we had to call them over to ask. They simply replied that our original waitor had forgotten to give the chef our order, but that our meals would be "arriving soon". They offered no apology or compensation. When the meals finally arrived and hour and a half after we'd ordered, we were shocked to find that one meal tasted like a 50p tinned ravioli, and the crab pasta had three tiny bits of crab claw that contained no crab. We did not wait for the bill and instead went over to pay. The waiting staff could tell we were very upset with our experience but again, offered no sort of apology or reduction for their error. Please do not eat here, you will be hugely...
Read moreSuggestive location in the heart of Bosa, right next to the alleys that lead to the Malaspina Castle and a few steps from the picturesque Via del Carmine, parallel to the Corso. we comfortably dined on the cobblestone patio in front of the restaurant. Kind, fast and competent service of the owner maitre and sommelier Antonietta and her boys. The dishes we ordered, from appetizers to desserts, were all a delicious surprise, the result of the mastery of chef Nanni Solinas, who gets better every year if possible. The appetizers of meat or fish are excellent and the first courses are really tasty. The desserts, with a fresh and fruity flavour, were the perfect conclusion to a dinner that is not easily forgotten and leaves the desire for a repeat. Strongly recommended for lovers...
