Màma - Trattoria di Mare — Restaurant in Brindisi

My family and I have spent the past 2 weeks in beautiful Puglia. Today was our last day and on the way to the Airport we stopped off here for some lunch! We’re lucky enough to have 3 children (10, 7, 4) who love experimenting different food… Dont always love everything, but always up for a taste… On our holiday we’ve sampled the meats, dried meats, pizza and beautiful pasta dishes on offer across Puglia. Our lunch today however was different… we arrived at opening time… which I know can be a challenge as kitchens still finishing prep and front of house also putting the final touches… From the moment we walked in, it was as if we were special guests at any time of the day. Our host had perfect English and explained everything on the menu, including some off-menu options. We ordered some small dishes to share to start and some main dishes! Everything was as fresh as you’d expect, and the octopus and squid in particular were cooked to perfection! It’s was a pleasure to watch our small children enjoy Octipus, Squid, Prawns and muscles (never mind the lovely linguine with seabass), and have clean plates all around!!

Sincere complements to the chef and thank you to our fantastic host! Next time to southern Italy, this will be an out-of-the-way destination for our family!

AVOID AT ANY COST!!!

This is absulotely the worst restaurant I went to in Italy. First the lack of choice then the wait, more than 1h for a 6 people… When the food finaly arrived it was so salty than a friend of mine almost threw up. But it isnt just a bad place to eat, when we asked to pay another surprise was awaiting. The reicipt that has been given to us didnt include any detail of the final price but we found it a little bit strange so we had to ask all of the price that leader to this nimber. And boom the real price was less than the one showned previously (during the detail enumeration of the price the waiter tried to add a few euros to each dish than what was shown in the card). ROBBERS!! Do I need to add that the waiters were looking at us...

Overrated restaurant, no doubt. We came here following the reviews but we're totally disappointed. Starting with the wine selection that is very poor, the food was just ok. The rice with seafood was the highlight of our dinner and was not outstanding at all. Tuna tortellini was bathed in some kind of a shrimp reduction that was bitter and took the flavor off the pasta.
