Edit: I got food poisoning 3 hours after having my lunch at this restaurant. Original review: Avoid at all cost. We stopped at Brindisi on our way to Bari and decided to get lunch. Our first choice in restaurants was unfortunately under construction, so we chose this restaurant because of mostly positive reviews. Toto & Raf are trying to run an "upscale" restaurant, to no success. The restaurant is very dirty, the toilets are unusable with crates of empty bottles blocking the women's toilet which I wouldn't have wanted to use anyway as it was black with dirt. The food - I had the tuna main, while my partner went for grilled fish. The menu says the fish is fresh, but it was dry, chewy and sour tasting. The sides were sour mayo, a teaspoon of potatoes and 3 leaves of salad. The best tasting dish was the free bread and olive oil they bring to you at the start. €49.00 for 2 poor dishes and a bottle of water at...
Read moreFood - was delicious and freshly made. We had the risotto and were told that it would take 20 minutes, as they had to make it from scratch. Worth the wait, it was super creamy and fresh, with the rice cooked to perfection. Tiramisu for dessert was delicious too. We did not have fish or seafood, but it is very fresh, as the fresh fish platter WA presented to several other tables so they could pick what they wanted. One person at another table wanted a type of pasta but not the seafood that went with it and they were very accommodating and offered other options. Location - furniture seems a bit old and run down, but don't assume anything by it, the food was very nice. We went for lunch and were alone at first, but i guess the place is more lively and busy for dinner. Service - the chefs and the waitress were all very nice and...
Read moreVery good meal and fresh fish. Nevertheless, we did not appreciate the fact that the waiter forced our hand to take the dishes of the day We did not have time to consult the menu The waiter strongly encouraged me to take the risotto of the day and my companion the sea bream without telling us the prices of these "dishes of the day". In the end, the bill was very high (12€ for 6 raw shrimps as a starter, 18€ for the risotto against 12/14€ for the ones on the menu and 48€ for the sea bream of my companion with potatoes and salad). As for the wine, the waiter took care of choosing it for us (without our asking him, but once again we were unable to consult the menu). He chose a bottle at 25€ while the ones on the menu are at 18/20€. In short, the meal was good but not up to its price 120€ for 2 starters, 2 courses, 1 bottle of wine and a...
