During our excursion in Capri, my wife and I stumbled upon the enchanting Le Grottelle restaurant nestled amidst a captivating forest. While we didn't have the chance to sample the food, our review is solely based on the remarkable atmosphere and breathtaking surroundings we encountered.
Le Grottelle is a place straight out of a fairy tale, where magic comes to life. The moment we set foot inside, we were transported to a world filled with wonder and beauty. The restaurant's idyllic location amidst the forest, with glimpses of the shimmering sea and the sweet serenade of birdsong in the background, left us spellbound.
The natural setting surrounding Le Grottelle is a masterpiece in itself. The picturesque forest exudes tranquility, inviting you to wander through its paths and discover hidden treasures at every turn. The combination of lush greenery, vibrant flora, and the gentle whispers of nature create an atmosphere that feels truly ethereal.
As we took in the mesmerizing views from the restaurant, we couldn't help but feel like we were part of a captivating story unfolding before our eyes. The surreal ambiance, as if plucked from a dream, made us yearn to return and experience it all over again.
While our visit focused solely on the ambiance, we left Le Grottelle with a deep longing to explore its culinary offerings. We have no doubt that the culinary delights served here will be as exquisite as the surroundings. We eagerly look forward to returning and immersing ourselves fully in this magical experience, where nature's beauty and delectable cuisine converge.
Le Grottelle is a hidden gem that captivates the heart and soul. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape or simply a place to reconnect with nature's marvels, this restaurant will transport you to a realm of enchantment. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this extraordinary haven; you'll be mesmerized by its charm and eager to create your...
Read moreWe made a reservation at this restaurant over two months in advance, specifically requesting a table with a view. After walking nearly 40 minutes uphill, we were met with incredibly rude staff who barely acknowledged us. When we reminded them about our reservation for a view-side table, they unapologetically told us the only table available was one awkwardly positioned beside the walking path.
After such a long walk, we had no choice but to stay and eat. Unfortunately, we were also served food that gave us food poisoning; we’ve been sick for days and are still feeling unwell.
I have never encountered such unfriendly service anywhere in Capri, a place we visit every year and always enjoy. This restaurant seems to rely on its uphill location, knowing that tired guests will settle for any table just to rest and eat.
I hope this review helps others avoid the same disappointment and encourages the restaurant to treat its customers with the respect...
Read moreWe ate there on the recommendation of our hotel concierge, right next door. We walked down the long walkway, wondering if a restaurant could possibly be so far off the road. A house with children working and playing outside confused us a bit more, and we were the first patrons there that evening, at 7:30. Beautiful, rustic setting, no menu. Our waiter gave the antipasto options, a bottle of wine, and kept coming back with plate after plate of more food, all fabulous. Then we had the pasta, gnocchi with shrimp for the wife and a thick pasta with clams for me. We were too full to have meat options but did have tiramisu and a rum topped cake. And of course they brought us limoncello. Favorite dinner by far in our four days here. Then the bill came - and I've seen no menu with prices. Less than half what I expected. I left a 50% tip - and still less than they deserved. I'll be back at least a couple...
