Pricey, but hands down our best evening in Capri. First off, if you are even a small fan of gin then you have to book some extra time before dinner to visit their poolside Gin Club and American Bar for some gin and tonics. Be warned: the prices are high, but don't be dissuaded as you will get your money's worth! They have a selection of gin and tonic pairings to choose from, but they can also go off list with a substantial number of tonic water choices from all over the world as well as a deep collection of gins contained within their "Gin Bible". When you order, they prepare the ingredients and build the cocktails tableside, in what amounts to a nice show. Their attention to detail in preparation is exquisite, and the end result is a truly spectacular drink with a captivating view of the southern bay of Capri. Although we didn't try them, they offer other types of drinks as well. Moreover, the drink order comes with an assortment of beautiful small bites, olives, chips, and nuts. It really is a show and should be a part of your experience. We even decided to skip the wine pairing with dinner to enjoy more of their wonderful cocktails.
That brings us to the restaurant. Service is attentive and excellent. Atmosphere cannot be beat. We were sublimely comfortable, and by the end of the night were making jokes with the staff as we got to know eachother. That brings us to the food. They have a variety of menu options to choose from. We went with the full Faraglioni tasting menu option. Each dish was wonderfully prepared, and was an experience in its own right. Dessert was a show, and we certainly left full.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We would return to Capri just to...
Read moreWe had the worst food experience of our 5 day capri trip. The restaurant is beautiful, the view mesmerizing, and the service very professional. The food presentation was good but the taste and texture were borderline offensive for a fine dining experience. The cuddlefish tasted like plastic with tajin. The raw amberjack was low quality fish served with tasteless foam, it was barely edible. The worst of all was a gazpacho with seaweed and pasta. It tasted like ketchup with seaweed, it was completely inedible. The only passable dish was the lamb (and the desserts). The food was so bad I felt I was in the twilight zone, but was reassured because my whole table felt the same way. The worst part is the dinner was 250+ per person. I have no problem with the cost, but for that price you expect to be blown away. Instead, I didn’t finish 4 of the 7 main dishes. You’ll have a better dinning experience getting a caprese at the piazza. Come here for the aperitivo but do yourself a favor, and have dinner...
Read moreGreat food, poor attitude towards families
We visited Lemonzu for a special lunch and were initially impressed — the food was excellent, the ambiance elegant, and the service professional. However, the experience was deeply soured by the behavior of the owner.
After a generous bill and an enjoyable time, the owner abruptly and rudely asked our children to leave the pool area. Regardless of the reason, a venue of this standard should know how to communicate with respect — especially to families who are clearly enjoying the space and behaving respectfully.
For that reason, I cannot recommend this place to anyone traveling with children. Beautiful location, but very poor hospitality values when it comes...
