I am deeply disappointed with my recent purchase from Dolce and Gabbana's Capri location. I bought a pair of shoes, and it was immediately clear upon receipt that they were used. The sole showed visible wear and tear, and the inside bore signs of previous usage. This is absolutely unacceptable for a luxury brand like Dolce and Gabbana. Customers expect to receive new, pristine products, especially when paying premium prices.
My dissatisfaction escalated when they insisted I return to the store in Capri or Rome in person to address the issue, an unrealistic demand for someone not local to the area and on vacation. It became apparent that their strategy is to exploit the transient tourist population who may not have the means or time to return to the store.
The situation worsened when Benedetta reached out to me on whatâs WhatsApp. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and providing a customer-friendly solution, they defended their actions by stating that the used shoes they sold me were the ones I had tried on in the store. This lack of responsibility and care is not only disappointing but also misleading.
I believe I was taken advantage of due to my tourism status. The combination of their unwillingness to acknowledge the condition of the shoes, coupled with the inconvenience of having to physically return to the store, left me feeling exploited and dismissed. Their practices left me believing that this store operates more as a tourist trap than a legitimate branch of a reputable luxury brand.
I strongly advise potential customers, especially tourists, to exercise caution when considering making a purchase from this location. This incident has made me question the trust I once had in Dolce and Gabbana, a sentiment I never thought I'd associate with such a prestigious brand. Policy stated I had 15 days to RETURN my product. I took this purse to this store with all documentation & they said that the policy means they will only exchange it. No where in the policy does it say exchange. It only says return. According to this store after purchase there is absolutely no refunds only exchanges and they donât care what their policy states. I have never experienced anything like it and I feel they went against policy because I was an American tourist.
