Absolutely gorgeous - and amazing hospitality. We cam to Capri for one day from Naples. We didn't plan any fine dining but since the trip was for our wedding anniversary and also reunion with my husband's mother, we thought it would be great to have a dinner with a seaside view. I found La Palette randomly on Google Maps and I thought it is great as it looks cool and also just 10-15mins away from the central part of Capri. The way to the restaurant is going up the hill - but quite enticing to take a walk. I didn't feel bothered walking at all. The decor or the restaurant is stylish and minimal - but completely balanced with that STUNNING view of Capri! The view includes an overview of the island (including the central part) and also the cliff on another side. The food is just beautifully represented and tastes good, of course, seafood is my favourite. The 3 separate sections (Antipasti, First course and Second course) are more than enough to feel full. The waiters were absolutely lovely and helpful, so overall our experience was nothing to complain about but only...
Read moreStopped in after a tiring walk around Capri. I noticed the prices were pretty high on the menu, but it had a good rating on Google and a nice view, so it seemed worth a splurge. It wasn't. My amberjack with zucchini and carmelized onions was pretty good, but at 38 euros for something that amounted to a fish taco, it was overpriced. The eggplant parmesan was sub-par by any standard. I know it isn't a Capri dish, but we have had it in Rome, Naples, and envirions and it was always good and sometimes great. Here it wasn't even up to Stouffer's level. The gnochetti (28 Euros!) with clams had a nice tasting sauce, but otherwise it was about 99% gnochetti with hardly a clam in site. (They had been removed from their shells and were apparently hiding.) We were all too tired to sit around complaining, so we just paid and left. Save yourself the bad experience and just keep on walking, no matter how nice the place looks and how...
Read moreIt is unfortunate I have to leave a poor review because this restaurants food was amazing. A waitress spilled a Hugo spritz all over our friends lap, breaking a glass on her in the process. Our party was extremely understanding and did not cause any sort of scene. When the bill came, they charged us for everything with no compensation offered for our friend, who was covered in alcohol and had glass broken on her. I told our waiter that we thought it was unprofessional that there was no compensation offered to our friend, much less an apology, and his boss simply told him in Italian to stop talking to us. Long story short, this restaurant is hindered by its unprofessional staff, and I would not recommend dining here, especially if you are a tourist as they will take...
