Ristorante Il Vecchio Frantoio — Restaurant in Castagneto Carducci

We arrived around 8 PM. 19 people. Had a reservation but by mistake done at a different location. Our bad, we accepted we made a mistake. But with a lot of places on the terrace they said all is booked so they will prepare a table jn the restaurant. So outside 27 deg …. Internal restaurant empty. They gave us 2 tables in the back of the restaurant, near the toilets so …. 40 deg, no air condition. So … food I think was ok, but overall experience not. They forgot my order but at that point I didn’t care anymore. When we finished the terrace still had places …. So all booked was definitively not a correct statement. Very dissapointing experience especially considering we returned as half of the people in our group were recomending with high praise...

Swung in for lunch after a wine tasting, nice that they have parking although tight down on a lower level. Wine list was nice and the maremma toscana cab we tried was delicious.

View is the real star, but we should’ve tried the pizza side next door that was packed (doesn’t show up on google maps)!

Service was decent but food was slow (only 2 tables in restaurant and took 20+ mins), not a ton of flavor and we had to ask for bread (no olive oil) which was bland and cold.

Venison was cooked well, polenta cake too - just missing flavor. Risotto was more rice than Arborio risotto and almost bad flavor with the asparagus, didn’t blend well and not al dente. Fries looked amazing, nice salting but not quite crispy enough /...

Attratti dalla location panoramica abbiamo prenotato un tavolo da 4 per le ore 13:30 già da Roma per il pranzo di Ferragosto. Abbiamo ordinato un antipasto, 4 primi ed abbiamo chiesto ESPLICITAMENTE al cameriere se potevamo ordinare i secondi dopo aver mangiato i primi. Il cameriere ci ha risposto che non ci sarebbe stato nessun problema, senza specificare nulla sull'orario di chiusura della cucina. A quel punto, dopo aver finito il primo, abbiamo chiamato il cameriere per ordinare il secondo e lui ci ha detto che la cucina era chiusa. Allora abbiamo chiesto spiegazioni al proprietario e lui ci ha detto, scocciato, che la cucina chiudeva alle ore 14. Ci siamo quindi lamentati del fatto che il cameriere non ci avesse avvisato della chiusura della cucina. Il proprietario, in modo arrogante, ci ha detto che avremmo dovuto sapere che la cucina avrebbe chiuso alle ore 14:00. Ma come facevamo a sapere gli orari di chiusura se nessuno ci aveva avvisati preventivamente?! Anzi, lo stesso cameriere ci aveva rassicurato che non ci sarebbe stato alcun problema ad ordinare i secondi dopo i primi. Sarebbe bastato semplicemente che il proprietario e lo stesso cameriere si fossero scusati dell'accaduto, invece il proprietario ha iniziato a deriderci davanti agli altri clienti dicendo che a "casa loro" noi dovevamo adattarci ai loro orari e non viceversa. La responsabile della cucina invece è venuta invece a scusarsi dandoci ragione. Che delusione.. siamo andati via amareggiati e ancora con la fame perché, tra l'altro, le porzioni dei primi non sono proprio generose. Una giornata piacevole si è trasformata in un'esperienza sgradevole per un errore di comunicazione e soprattutto per l'incapacità del proprietario di saper...
