Bucci — Restaurant in Castel Gandolfo

Too bad for the beautiful panoramic view of the lake! But the view is free and without entering here, next door. The reception in the restaurant by a lady with the air of a boss made us think right from the start. it was as if I had entered as beggars, she having a superior and sharp tone as if I had disturbed her from her rest. Portions of fish of the day with seafood sauce...terrible! A tiny piece of fish tail, but burnt, without the taste of fish, with sauce and exactly 3 clams 25 euros!! The requested garlic sauce did not have a single gram of garlic, and when we drew his attention, he snapped at us that this is their garlic sauce, without garlic! The beef dish was totally raw on the inside and not what I requested. The water was not carbonated but naturally carbonated. The service was done by a little girl who didn't know what or how we each ordered. Disastrous for such a pretentious place and very expensive for the culinary services offered! Avoid the disappointment of visiting this tavern with fancy restaurant...

This was admittedly not our first choice. Some of the reviews were not so great about service. The view looked amazing and we couldn't resist. We approached a bit before 7. No reservation. Not only were we greeted with kindness, but they set a table just for our group! We all thought our dishes were some of the best we have had in our 3 weeks in Italy. Unfortunately, my mother the vegetarian ordered a dish and was served pasta with pork. It was not mentioned in the menu. The waiter went out of his way to make it right and apologized. We had been at the beach for the day and were passing through the area. So we were not dressed to the nines, yet we were treated just as kindly as any other...

In un ristorante si può mangiare bene e meno bene si può pagare il giusto e si può pagare in modo non adeguato rispetto a quello che si mangia ma un ristoratore non dovrebbe mai essere permaloso e poco professionale verso il cliente a fronte di critiche sui piatti e sul prezzo della consumazione sopratutto essendo stato lui stesso a chiedere se si era soddisfatti o meno. Fatta questa premessa e sorvolando sul servizio decisamente mediocre ( quando viene servito il vino dopo averlo fatto provare al cliente sarebbe il caso che prima che venga riposto nel cestello riempia anche il calice del secondo commensale o no?) tra i piatti ordinati polpo rosticciato su crema di ceci , tartare di manzo con panzanella, fettuccelle alla gricia con cardoncelli e tartufo ( ?) ,paccheri allo zafferano seppie e ricci tiramisù e crostatina con cremoso al pistacchio (?) …unico piatto sufficiente e ben preparato il polpo rosticciato e parzialmente la tartare ,velo pietoso sui primi patti dove le fettucelle oltre ad essere arrivate fredde mancavano totalmente di gusto e i paccheri non erano stati tirati e avevano la colatura di acqua e sugo nel piatto … i dessert credo che siano stati la portata peggiore ( nessuno pretende Igino Massari) la crostatina , più adatta ad una merenda che a un dopo pasto era una posta frolla dura con una crema “spalmabile” non certamente un cremoso e il tiramisù anonimo ...il prezzo complessivo di questo pranzo è stato di 120 euro con una bottiglia di acqua e una bottiglia di vino bianco da 0,350 il costo dei primi piatti in particolare e’ stato superiore ai 20 euro prezzi che troviamo in ristoranti al limite dello “ stellato” o in zone del centro storico di Roma … in ultimo credo che in un paese come l’Italia che produce il migliore olio al mondo in un ristorante non si possa mettere a tavola dell’olio che non sia...
