Pastanostra — Restaurant in Castel Gandolfo

We spent a lovely morning in this beautiful little town, and we stopped to this Hosteria for lunch. We loved it: the outside location and cute set, the menu simple and clean, the stuff friendly, and the owner attentive to our requests. The food was simply fantastic. Pasta was really really al dente, but the flavor and sauces were just amazing!! So delicious and tasty!! The look of the desserts was really appealing too but we just couldn't. We were too full!!! We were visiting her on our last day before returning home to Cascate del Niagara. Steps outside our BnB was this family run restaurant. Beautiful unique interior made this a one of a kind establishment. The food was amazing. As a handmade pasta store by day and restaurant by night you can taste the home made difference. Other reviewers mentioned ‘young inexperienced’ servers but you have to respect the hard working family that runs this place. The locals were plentiful which speaks for itself. Piatti buoni, ma ritardo ed altro non hanno reso il pranzo del tutto piacevole.

Ritardo. Abbiamo ordinato tre primi (tonnarelli cacio e pepe, gnocchi al sugo di Nonna Elsa e fettuccine al medesimo sugo). Purtroppo sono arrivate prima le fettuccine, dopo un quarto d’ora il cacio e pepe e dopo ulteriori 45 minuti gli gnocchi, con uno dei tre commensali che ha dovuto attendere 45 minuti (di orologio) guardando noi che, ob torto collo, abbiamo dovuto mangiare per evitare che la pasta si freddasse. Grande disagio.

Ambiente. Appena siamo arrivati la musica che proveniva dal computer iMac collocato vicino alla cassa era alta, oltre che musica da discoteca del tutto inappropriata, quindi abbiamo chiesto la cortesia di abbassarla; la responsabile ha acconsentito (e l’abbiamo apprezzato), ma siamo in un ristorante e, a mio sommesso avviso, non credo che sia proprio una musica adeguata.

Inoltre, noi eravamo all’interno, e faceva abbastanza caldo, tant’è che anche gli altri clienti degli altri tavoli si sono lamentati del pari; desta stupore che non abbiano acceso l’aria condizionata.

Nel merito dei piatti, sicuramente gli gnocchi erano buoni, morbidi, mentre per la cacio e pepe io cambierei la pasta perché sono troppo grossi quei tonnarelli, al pari delle fettuccine. Troppo spesse, ma sono gusti. Comunque piatti gustosi.

Insomma, va bene tutto, ma il pranzo non è stato piacevole perché non si può fare attendere 45 minuti tra un primo e l’altro, costringendo i vari commensali del medesimo tavolo a guardare gli altri che mangiano per così tanto tempo. È mortificante.
