This is a very special place. First up, views: unique. You won't find any other place in or nearby Castro THIS close to the sea. Fried calamari and pedalò, or viceversa - what more could you want? Top marks for atmosphere and service too. Second, and most importantly, this is easily the best "fritto" in the area. It's exquisitely light (same with the french fries which are hand curled and not just straight cut, giving them more flavor and character than expected) and makes it exceptionally easy to pair with any drink, whether a beer or a light wine and still not feel awful after! Third, even better than the fried calamari, the grigliata mista is a genuine standout and possibly the best version of this platter we've had in Salento. Absolutely fantastic little nook: if you're looking to eat fried fish, this stop is a must. Yes, it's slightly more expensive than what is around but without an iota of doubt worth it!
