CHILOGRAMMO FOOD&DRINKS — Restaurant in Catania

There was only one waitress (she was trying her best I don’t complain about her) and one guy who was helping her, he wasn’t doing his job, wasn’t taking back empty plates and glasses. The food was quite cold, especially the “chocolate fondant” that supposed to be hot. We ordered one steak well done and it came medium well. Then we brought birthday candles to the bar and asked the stuff to put it into our dessert as a surprise, the guy came with desserts and candles but didn’t light it up … so I gave him a sign that he supposed to light them up first, then they did that but the birthday girl already knew what it was about. I mean, it wasn’t something super hard to do in my opinion. In general food was ok. Meat quality was fine but could be better as we ate in some other places in Catania and it was better.

We came here a year ago for my wife's birthday and the steak as well as the servers were top notch. This time around the steak was absolutely disgusting, chewy and with no flavor. Most of the steak ended up in a napkin as it was simply uneatable. The servers have passed us a thousand times and never even offered a new hot plate. Moreover, the choices of steak cuts were not explained. Typical Sicilian service however not something that I would expect from a place where I'm paying over 100 euro for a steak. I will never go back there again. They happily charged me €140 and we left angry as a couple of hornets. I don't recall ever having a worst stake or experience for that matter....

Delicious steaks. We had rib eye, both cooked perfectly, medium and medium rare. Potatoes were seasoned well not overly seasoned. We also got the chicken nuggets, the way my grandma made them. With cornflakes and mayonnaise. Juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Perfect and Hot (temperature, not spicy ). The bread was warm and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and a lil sprinkle of seasonings. I asked for balsamic and I dipped my bread and potatoes in it. Soooo yummy. We're only in Catania 2 nights but we might go back tomorrow night again it was that good. And the staff was so nice. I wish I knew the lady's name who welcomed us to have a seat inside, she was...
