Scenario Pubblico/Compagnia Zappalà Danza is one of the four National Dance Production Centres recognized by the Italian Ministry of Culture

This recognition arrived in 2015, crowning the long history of the Compagnia Zappalà Danza and his founder Roberto Zappalà, over 28 years of activity rich of international success and not last the realization of an avant-garde space Scenario Pubblico, which fastly changed the dance perception in the City of Catania and which has become in a few years point of reference for dance in the South of Italy.

It is 25 years since Roberto Zappalà, has been running and narrating about a lively Southern part of Italy together with his Company «with tenacity, with a lucid vision aimed to improve his poetics, to build a humanist and philosophical home to his dance ideas» (delteatro.it). Scenario pubblico di Roberto Zappalà è un vero gioiellino nel cuore di piazza Teatro Massimo a Catania. Questo luogo però non è sempre aperto infatti per chi non lo conoscesse, si tratta non solo di un teatro ma anche del centro Nazionale di produzione di Danza Contemporanea in Italia. E qui vengo e mi spiego: se siete amanti dell Arte e della danza e vi trovate a Catania per fortuna proprio nei giorni in cui ci sono spettacoli della compagnia di Zappalà, non esitate ad entrare e chiedere una volta entrati nel moderno foyer se sono ancora disponibili biglietti. Luogo in cui regna creatività ed entusiasmo. Gli spettacoli sono sempre belli da vedere e stimolanti per riflettere, oraganizzati per lo più nel week end per venire incontro ai lavoratori, e alla fine di una dura settimana é un luogo straordinario per rilassarsi e godere di spettacoli di danza contemporanea.
