Nice little Café with a nice atmosphere. Scrambled eggs were very good and so was the coffee. The high average rating most likely comes for the real effort put into making a cosy, different & "smiling" place. It attracts mostly young foreigners (edited from here post-owner's answer): My review was positive and I believe constructive. I work in tourism and can't help observing places through a professional eye. The ratings attract customers. I came twice, in total with 6 people. This Café is small and both times all seating was taken, except for the chairs we were "lucky" to get - both times only young foreigners (to which I belong, at least for the foreigner part :). Big majority of reviews also from young foreigners, Café with several comments and "humour" in English. My conclusion is fair and accurate. Beforehand I also read several answers from the establishment on comments - aggressive &/or offensive answers are always wrong but can be understandable when a review is deliberately negative /seem fake. It not always the case and the "effort" of writing a customer relevant review should be appreciated and, at time, considered to improve details. It is not the case here and, for those reading the ratings/comments, while you might appreciate the good food & coffee and the style, personal, of the place, you will also sense a not 100%...

Let me tell you something: MUST MUST MUST eat cafe! We just came from eating here and I had to leave a review soon as I got back to our spot. The owner is the best here with his amazing jokes, magic tricks and his friendly attitude. :D it is cash only so go to the local bank near the square just a couple minutes away through the market :)

Now let me tell you about the fooood: scrumdiliumptious, crackadiddlydoo! The croissants and pastries used are baked FRESH, not like fresh for the day but FRESH for each order so the wait is worth it baby gooorl especially cause you CANNOT beat the pricing for something this good. Cannot express enough how good the puff pastry is (ham, egg and cheese) and the croissant sandwich. We also had a white chocolate hot chocolate and fresh squeeze orange juice. He even makes his own ice cream in various flavors! Idk what else to say other than come show this lil shop some love. We will be coming back tomorrow for breakfast. :D 12/10, what a...

We loved our short stop in at this unusual, quirky, but very good little cafe just off the main area near the port.

The made-as-you-wait pastries were delicious and, as we were his only clients at the time, his jokes, good card tricks and unorthodox views on various matters kept us entertained and scratching our heads.

The proprietor is an Australian ex-pat with out-of-the-mainstream views and, as is often found with those of his perspective, a great heart, good sense of humor, and maybe even a little bit of magic. This visit reminded me that that variety of thought keeps the world interesting and lends it savor, and that listening without judgement to people with very different ideas than your own is good for your soul, regardless of whether you adopt those ideas. There's room in this world for all of us and none of us should be so foolish as to imagine we hold a monopoly on the truth. This is a great place to not worry and be happy (but...

CIAO is a delightful small breakfast spot that stands out for its commitment to fresh, made-to-order food. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, as I did, but it’s entirely worth it. I waited about 20 minutes for a table, but with my audiobook in tow, the time flew by. Once seated, I indulged in a cappuccino, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a croissant with fried eggplant and cheese. The dedication to freshness here is evident—the croissant was baked to order! Every bite was a testament to quality and care, with flavors that were simply divine. The restaurant operates on a cash-only basis, so come prepared. The owner, an Australian, is not just friendly and fun, but also an exceptional cook. His welcoming demeanor adds a personal touch to the overall experience. CIAO is a gem for breakfast lovers who appreciate fresh, delicious food in a cozy setting. Just remember to bring cash and your patience, and you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable meal.

I wanted to have a morning coffee before travelling further so I saw this place with 4.9 rating so I thought I will try my luck and drink a coffee here. Honestly, the rating is misleading. I really liked Giovanni who is so enthusiastic about the coffee that I cannot really appreciate enough, but this does not justify the score. The things I would improve: - please get some take-away cups too - please clean all equipment because the coffee I got had that aftertaste what you get when you dont wash the equipment and old oils go into your coffee… - in my opinion the cups should be different - please get a display where you can put the pastries (in case you want to sell them on a regular basis) What I would really continue further: - measure the beans - roast your own beans - be this enthusiastic :) Im really sorry because of the rating but I wrote it to let you know what others might feel as customers.

The croissants were fresh baked and the most delicious I've had in Italy. He roasted the beans there and then when I asked for an espresso, and the freshly roasted and ground beans combined with his craftsmanship made such a great coffee experience that I ordered another on the spot (which I elsewise never do). Not to mention the coffee's crema was better than I knew it could be. The food was more filling than I usually expect from a cafè for breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, this is one of the best breakfasts I've had while eating out in Italy. Lastly, it's evident that the host loved caring for customers! He showed us card tricks, and was great to simply talk with in general. Also, his English was impeccable. An unforgettable breakfast, truly!
