Hidden Gem in Castellemarre!
FOOD: the food here is SUPERIOR and extremely delicious. Mostly seafood.
The first night we ate here we were given these delicious pizza balls; the second night they gave us regular bread but we requested the pizza balls and they happily accommodated so you may have to ask for them.
I recommend the Scialatielli which is a homemade pasta served in the most delectable sauce I’ve had in a long time.
We also had the Pamigiana de piscato which was also very good. My main course, the dish of the day was a delicious sea bass served with potatoes. Nothing on the menu cost more than €50 with the average at about €18.
They have a large selection of wines that are very reasonably priced, especially if you from the US. You can get a bottle of very good wine for €22-€60!
The atmosphere is like that of an upscale restaurant with low contemporary jazz music playing. It is quite the vibe!
Attire is smart casual or even dressy. The service is fast and super accommodating. The owner speaks good English and is very helpful in explaining menu items.
They have both inside and outside seating. Outside has air conditioning and is decorated with vertical streaming lights hanging all around the patio. It’s quite a spectacle.
I absolutely recommend this spot for a superb meal, great wine, good pricing swanky atmosphere and very...
Read moreRarely I have been that thoroughly entertained while having dinner. A fish restaurant without menu, where one is served whatever was available at the market this day. We entered, got a table and some water. Then our waiter (an awesome guy) asked whether we want some starters and 5 minutes later about 10 dishes of antipasti filled our whole table. From octopus to tuna to mussels everything we got was delicious. We continued with two pasta dishes, equally yummy, and finished with some tiramisu and sorbet. Apart from the stunning quality of food, the waiter team is the true star in this restaurant. Organized chaos rules in this restaurant, a flurry of people with empty or full plates is constantly running in and out of the kitchen. Meals are served to order in the middle of the restaurant and between serving and plating, you will hear plenty of chitchatting and some yelling from the staff. A unique atmosphere! We will definitely...
