I was very lucky to dine at Hosteria tonight. I had a reservation which I canceled because my husband was not feeling well. On a whim, I went by to see if I could still get a table. They were gracious and let me sit despite already giving our table away. I was eager to eat at Hosteria because the menu is unique and different from the other restaurants we have visited. I started with the Sweetbreads and Prawn over Sweet Pea Purée and Truffle oil. The presentation was beautiful and the taste sublime. The prawn was delicate and sweet, while the sweetbread was crisp outside and tender inside. The star of the night was the Maialino - crispy pork with bok choy and a lovely brown sauce. The house wines by the glass were quite good as well. I enjoyed my first Amaro Montenegro, thanks to the suggestion of the lovely couple sitting next to me. Read moreThe best experience all around. We came in here for wine and appetizers after walking by it and wish we could have stayed for dinner too! I never write reviews but was compelled to jump on here to write one.
We had this flawless porcini mushroom and artichoke dish with beautiful flavor and texture followed by the special of the day - polenta with some sort of creamy sea bass mixture, which was also unique and delicious. We also ended up trying the creamy cauliflower with pork cheeks and mussels, and it was also 10/10. I suspect you cannot order a bad dish here. They were each very interesting and full of different flavors that you weren’t expecting!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy and quaint. The service of wine, bread and different food items was outstanding. We will definitely be back at least once next time we are in...
Read moreI was staying in Cernobbio for a wedding for three nights and had lunch here that was so nice I managed to fit dinner in on my last night. This is a fantastic restaurant, the atmosphere is great, it’s small, intimate and has a lovely local feel to it. The food is just amazing, everything we had was incredible, an insane mushroom dish to start and a gorgeous beef tartare and then two superb pastas, one with a lemon kick and a ravioli that was outstanding. Great wine, really nice bread with the starters, it really was lovely all around. It’s all topped off by the brilliant Fabio who just does an amazing job at running the restaurant and building incredible dishes to match. It’s also only about 200 metres from the lake where you can get the ferry to other towns or go to other places...
