Lacking service, good food, excellent location. My first time here after many trips to Torbole, I had not heard great reviews bit it was a place we wanted to try once. Immediately it took more than 15 minutes to order. After ordering we received a very tasty plate on the gouse to kick things off, with lovely bread but then things start to deteriorate. Another 10 min later the starter at the same time as the wine we ordered much earlier. The waiter basically threw it in our glasses, it even splashed into my water. The starter however was excellent, really living up to the hype of the menu and venue, chapeau. The main course was also good. Two tasty plates of fish although they arrived noticablely later and the fish overcooked. This was forgivable though given everything else about the plate was well executed. Then we watched and waited... a lot. We finished the wine and water. We watched all the Italian clients of the restaurant get the attention of the staff for dessert menus, then dessert, the coffee, then checks. Eventually someone came to clear our plates but they weren't interested in offering us anything else. It finished by me queuing to pay at the bar with 3 other clients while watching other staff members polish cutlery and update their twitter. There was still half the clients waiting, including one they just seated. At least now I know what keeps them busy all this time they were rushing out of sight. What service the other reviewers here saw I can't say bit I definitely won't be returning. A pity, the venue and food...
Read moreIt was a very underwhelming experience.
The service was extremely slow. We were waiting 20 mins between finishing the dish and the moment someone remembered our existence The service was inattentive regardless of the pace. Every time we needed something, we had to spend a few minutes searching for the waitress I felt they were also non transparent. We ordered a pasta with a burrata and they brought us the same pasta without the burrata. Burrata is a central ingredient taste wise and also most expensive so I feel they should make it clear that it wouldn’t be coming with the dish as advertised. When we flagged that the burrata was missing, they said they ran out and started apologising profusely Otherwise, the dishes ranged from bad to fine. Fish ragu had smoked and boiled fish mixed and it was a very unappetising fish. Sweet and sour eel was nice in itself but it was in a dish that was overwhelmed by potatoes On the plus side, the booking process was nice and efficient and the views are great
We will not be coming back and I suggest you do yourself a favour and go somewhere where they will be happy to see you, not have an attitude that they are the best in the area and you should be happy that they are...
Read moreWe arrived with no reservation on a hot day looking for a final lunch for our Italian trip. We got a table straight away on Sunday lunchtime. Aircon was beautiful in a hot sunny day.
Great menu. Well thought out. Twists on classic Italian dishes with a focus on fresh fish. They offer a degustation menu for €60 which we saw a couple enjoying and it looked to be a great experience.
We ordered a pasta course mineral water and a couple of glasses of wine between us and we treated with a fabulous amuse bouche of polenta in a local cheese sauce. Followed with hot bread rolls with olive butter. Both complimentary.
Our pasta course were incredible. Caccio Pepe with trout cerviche, lobster bisque with prawn and ginger and truffle pasta. All beautifully presented, great portion sizes and flavours completely balanced. Such a treat.
We then go desserts, wow. Picture don’t do them justice. Pistachio cream and strawberry’s, crème bruleé with Tonka ice cream and tiramisu.
Would recommend for a high end dining experience. The wine menu was incredible. Great variety, had a regional map explaining local grapes with a range of prices. Such a great way to round off...
