Amazing restaurant, we loved it so much we came back the second day as well. We were staying in the bay, but most people come in by free boat transfer to & from Amalfi organised by the restaurant. Meet the captain on the small dock in Amalfi. It is Mainly locals who go, the food is excellent cooked by the mother of the family Michele. Originally started by Michele’s husband Mario’s father who was a fishmonger in the 1960’s this classic is well worth a visit.
Mario even takes people fishing at 7am on his boat to catch some of the menu for the day. Our boy went out and caught two squid and an Octopus. You can take this from Amalfi or be picked up at small floating dock next to the restaurant.
The menu is delicious with plenty of fresh specials, the Tuna Carpaccio was amazing, as was Pistachio Spaghetti & of course the Squid cooked two different ways which my son had helped catch. It may not quite have the curb appeal initially of the other restaurant, but the food service & value was better in...
Read moreDining at Ristorante Risorgimento was one of the highlights of our trip. I had the risotto with shellfish and clams—it was creamy, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly al dente, just the way I love it. My wife ordered the gnocchi, and it was just as amazing. We soon discovered the secret when the servers told us, “Our mother is the one cooking.” No wonder—the love of a mother could be tasted in every dish.
I even had the chance to step into the kitchen and saw how hard she was working—it was truly inspiring. The hospitality from the sons matched the food. They were incredibly kind, even going so far as to carry our luggage up 250 steps to our hotel. To top it off, they surprised us with an appetizer on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch.
This wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience filled with warmth, family, and...
Read moreEating here is an experience you can’t miss. Our server/proud owner is extremely hospitable. Pridefully showing the catches of the day, he brought over a platter local fish to our table. We hand selected our lunch from a variety of options. The views from our table were spectacular. The best sight of all was watching the fisherman work only with his hands, a bait, and a hook. Fish to table- you can’t get any more local or fresh than that. We also enjoyed lemon sobert, served frozen out of a lemon. The restraint graciously included a ride to amalfi with our lunch. The cherry on top to an already amazing day. Do yourself a favor and go visit our friends at...
