  • This is hands down the BEST hotel I’ve ever visited. To call this hotel a ‘5-star’ hotel is an understatement. This is not even comparable to other 5-star hotels. I have stayed in many luxury hotels and resorts and while they all have high-quality finishes and physical characteristics, Borgo Santandrea has even superior views, rooms, amenities, and most of all, hospitality. You can be sure to receive “How is everything, Mr./Mrs. xxx? Is there anything you need at the moment?” from about 10 different staff members daily.

HOTEL: Apparently, this recently renovated hotel underwent a massive renovation a few years ago and being in the real estate space, can assure anyone there were no ‘corners cut.’ The attention to detail by the developers often goes missed and underappreciated. From the ceramic tile flooring to the automatic curtains opening and closing in the room upon entrance, to the unbeatable views, it is impossible improve any further. The developers / ownership have truly maximized every ounce of luxury possible.

MANAGEMENT / HOSPITALITY: The biggest differentiator here is that the service goes ABOVE and BEYOND any other hotel. My wife and I arrived on our honeymoon to the most spectacular surprise, a free upgrade directly from ownership to a balcony suite with an infinity pool overlooking the sea. This was one of the best wedding gifts we had received. The management and staff are hands-on, caring, and there is absolutely no shortage of staff members. The leadership, starting with the ownership, is by far one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The owners are constantly onsite, asking how the experience is going. The management structure with ownership to GM’s to staff is impeccable with a structured chain of command in place. As a guest, you will never have to worry about lack of attention as there is always someone asking you, by your name “Mr. and Mrs. xxx”, if there is anything you need ie. food, drinks, dinner reservations.

FOOD: Beginning with the first meal of the day, the interactive breakfast experience with chefs in the large, open kitchen is more than just food, it is a luxurious meal overlooking the sea 10 stories above. The lunches and dinners at either of the restaurants, beach level or terrace, provided the best food my wife and I enjoyed on our entire two week trip – even better than the Michelin-rated restaurants we had as well. No matter what you decide to go with, you will not be disappointed with the chefs.

PRIVACY: Borgo Santandrea (BSA) has the best beach in Amalfi – and the only PRIVATE one along the coast AND with plenty of space. My wife and I stayed at another hotel in addition to visiting Capri before BSA and were crammed in next to dozens of others on the beach. Here, you do not have this issue at all where you have space, privacy with the cliffs above and enclosed, private part of the ocean with many free activities to enjoy. You are constantly be waited on by many of the staff members. We did not have to lift a finger and enjoyed the peacefulness of the beach with phenomenal cocktails and food delivered to us.

CONCLUSION: We spent two weeks in Italy on our honeymoon visiting all 5-star hotels throughout the country and nothing was even close to this. What I took away from this trip, even after all the tours, monuments, and cities, as the best and most memorable was undoubtedly Borgo Santandrea. Not only was the hotel itself 5-stars, but the hospitality provided by the management and staff ensure your stay is top-notch, better than any other hotel. I highly recommend this space and given the care provided by everyone here, would 1000% support this business over just about any other. This is worth every dollar spent and more. HIGHLY,...

Borgo Santandrea is a visually stunning property. When you cruise up to the dock, it looks like you are approaching a castle built into the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. The views are breathtaking, the private beach is incredible, and the restaurants offer amazing cuisine.||We arrived by boat and were greeted warmly by Luca and Borgo's GM, Tano. We ascended the elevator and stairs to the front desk, where the wonderful Allesia checked us in and showed us to a beautiful, well-appointed room with an insane view. Can't say enough about how nice the room was, everything from the tiling to the heated towel rack, no detail was missed.||The experience is elevated by the exceptional staff, led by General Manager and owner Maurizio, whose discreet yet passionate presence sets the tone for the entire team. His dedication and personal touch make every guest feel not just welcomed, but at home. He leads by example and has built a team that is professional, warm, and genuinely passionate about creating an unforgettable stay.||The breakfast buffet is unlike anything we’ve ever seen, very unique and creative. Between the food and the views, it was hard to leave breakfast to do anything else.|The rest of the day was spent at their private beach, enjoying the surf and serenity by the sea. We tried to make a daily habit of having one of their signature pizzas for lunch at the beach club||Drinks at the bar on the Alici deck with breathtaking views of the coast were a nightly ritual. Dinners at Marinella, their more casual restaurant, where the food and service were a true delight.||We had the incredible pleasure of making gelato with Rita, Julia, and Marco—a joyful and delicious memory we'll never forget. The pistachio gelato on the fresh brioche won't be forgotten anytime soon. It was hard to find gelato to rival what we had at Borgo; the texture and creaminess were hard to match. Desserts in general were a ten. ||Endless thanks to Maurizio and Tano for the trip of a lifetime!!|Thank you to Marco Ingenito and Italo at the beach for their impeccable service , and kindness, not to mention great photography skills. Also, must give a special shout to Julia, Francesco, Antonello, and Antonella, whose hospitality, warmth, and attention made every day a little extra special. We cannot recommend this hotel enough—it’s not just a hotel, it’s an experience we’ll...

It’s rare to be left both speechless and have an abundance of words to express the beauty of something. That is quintessentially Borgo Santandrea. The care, the attention to detail, the hospitality and the genuine love of the property is evident in every thing. And every one.

Staying at the Borgo is the greatest luxury you could give yourself. You feel special. You feel cared for. It feels like everyone on the property has something to offer you- I don’t mean that in a material sense. I mean that everyone wants to share information, share a smile, a conversation, a recommendation.

We had been looking forward to celebrating our honeymoon here and it far exceeded our expectations. I almost wish we skipped some of our excursions just to stay on site. You do not need to leave the property. It has everything you need or could possibly want.

The love of this paradise starts from the top and Maurizio is an unparalleled host- charming, stylish and welcoming. You can feel his passion in his presence and his attention to every guest, every associate. He knows everyone by name and is sincere when he asks how your stay is, what your plans are, what he can suggest.

The architecture, the decor, the design, the fragrances, the cuisine (the breakfast needs its own glowing 5 star review) the amenities (among them a Dyson hair dryer and a variety of cozy bathrobes, particularly the Once Milan linen robe)- it is truly a gift to yourself staying here. You simply feel exceptional being in this environment. I don’t know what greater gift there can be than to enable yourself feel to this way.

I loved seeing the staff in different locations throughout our stay. To have someone at dinner remember what I ate for breakfast made me feel very cared for, despite being in two different restaurants. (Do yourself a favor and dine at each restaurant on the property)

Upon my arrival I was immediately sorry our stay would have to come to an end eventually. And so I will look forward to our next visit because now I know just how incredible a property can make you feel. I am so grateful for the time we had at Borgo, the memories we made and look forward to...

Borgo Santandrea has incredible views, spotless rooms, and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. The beach club was also a highlight, and Giovanni, Salvatore, and the GM Alessandro gave us great service with our boat rental and beach day. Those elements really shine. Where the Borgo misses is in the details that define true luxury service: • Arrival & departure – We were greeted only by a parking attendant asking for keys. No warm welcome, no luggage assistance down the stairs, and checkout felt rushed and transactional. These first and last impressions matter. • Room presentation – Our otherwise immaculate room had a half-drunk water bottle left behind. Small, but noticeable at this level. • Dining experience – Service felt overwhelming, with staff constantly hovering, while the food was inconsistent (the mint linguine was inedible, and other dishes were just average). • Guest environment – At 3 AM we were woken by loud pool parties two floors below. Staff asked the guests to quiet down, but the noise continued. For a property built into cliffs with stacked terraces, this needs tighter monitoring. • The Pool – It’s hard to say this but it is sooo disappointing. A staff member said the beach club is way better, but when we got to the pool, it was empty, DIRTY, and shady. There were 4 or 5 chairs strung out and no staff and the skimmers were all out laying on the ground. Weird. It was the most uninviting outdoor pool I’ve seen in a while. Looks nice in pics but it’s a terrible vibe. No one used it all weekend and it was beautiful out. These may sound like small complaints, but at a luxury hotel they add up. A warm, personal welcome, consistent dining, and proactive attention to the guest environment are what separate spectacular stays from merely solid ones. Borgo has all the ingredients—location, facilities, people—but they need to refine the guest experience to match the setting.

From the moment we arrived, Borgo Santandrea felt like stepping into a dream within a dream—an elegant cliffside hideaway that somehow balances cinematic drama with deep, effortless calm. Logistics were a breeze: perched between Amalfi and Positano above the little fishing village of Conca dei Marini, the hotel’s private dock and seamless elevator-and-terrace layout made getting around (and out on the water) incredibly easy. Service was exceptional across the board—warm, precise, and genuinely anticipatory. You feel looked after here, not managed. That same care shows up in the design: mid-century lines and handmade details that make every corridor and terrace feel curated without ever feeling precious. Learning that the property was painstakingly transformed over years from a 1960s hotel into this modern classic made total sense once you see the craftsmanship in person. Dining was a highlight. The hotel’s restaurants are excellent—breakfast through dinner—and absolutely worth staying in for. (Alici and the Beach Club options were standouts for us.) It’s rare to find resort food this consistent on the Amalfi Coast; here, it’s a reason to linger. The ambience is like living in a quiet castle on the side of a mountain: terraced gardens, blue horizons, saltwater pool, and that hush you only get when you’re high over the sea. What truly sets Borgo Santandrea apart, though, is its private beach—reached by strolling through the gardens or by elevator. That kind of direct beach access is a rarity on this coastline, and it changed our whole rhythm: morning swims, lazy lunches at the beach club, and sunset boat rides from the jetty. Everything felt effortless. Everything exceeded expectations. We left feeling like we’d spent a week inside a fairytale—one we’re already plotting to revisit. Borgo Santandrea is unique, polished, and profoundly relaxing. We can’t wait to go back.
