The management and service was appalling. We arrived 6 minutes early. And our table was not ready. We waited. A table was then made up for us, we proceeded to sit down. âNO you cannot sit down, you are earlyâ. We considered this, whilst we thought it was strange, we accepted that we were (now) 3 minutes early.
At this stage we explained to their staff that we would like to sit down and that our table was ready. Once again, âNO you cannot sitâ!
We were then approached by another patron awaiting a table. There had been waiting over 30 minutes. And weâre clearly disappointed.
The server âEddyâ then came to us and said âwe will seat you soon, I cannot do anything about it, these other people have been before (so had we) and they are crazy people!â
At this stage we suggested that we didnât appreciate the behaviour of the staff towards the other guests.
Finally we were seated on a 3 person table (we had 4 guestsâŚ)!
The meal first appeared to be on track. However, we noted that there were foreign objects in the food (plastic material and hair), we noted a rat running across the room and also the restaurant had allowed cats in. The cats were sitting in the kitchen, over the preparation areas and the servers were petting them whilst also serving food.
We also asked for ice for our wine (the wine was warm and had not been refrigerated). We were told âthis was fine, just comingâ. However, no ice arrived. We then requested ice again. This time, we were told âyou cannot have ice, the only ice we have is from dirty water, not cleanâ.
We thought this was strange, but we respected the honestly. So we declined the iceâŚ
And then, ice appeared from another server. This ice was not âfresh iceâ. And based on what we had been explained to earlier. We chose not to touch the ice that we were then provided withâŚ
The meal; unfortunately the meal was not served together. So several of our party ate food whilst the other party had no food.
We ran up a respectable bill. And we were getting ready to offer a tip of 25%.
As we asked for the cheque/bill the server came to us. His name was âEDDYâ, he called my husband a very vulgar English slang word, and said that we were being difficult and we should pay him 300euro as a tip. We declined to offer a tip at this stage. His response was âI donât need the tip anywayââŚ
As you can imagine. Even if he truly felt this way, this is not the way to act as a service provider.
We would suggest that the food hygiene authorities should make a visit. And to prevent a serious outbreak of illness/death. But also the staff being rude to paying guests. Perhaps the police need to attend, as it felt like the server , âEDDYâ Was trying to bribe and threaten guests for tip money.
Needless to say, we wonât be returning. And we suggest no one visits. It will likely cause you to become very ill and also be verbally...
Read moreI have eaten in this restaurant a couple of times long ago. And last night (15th of September) I checked the reviews and they were pretty good, so we (a group of 10) decided to go here. The place was full and as apparently it is very popular it's probably often full.
The food was all right, pizzas were pretty good, said those in our group who had pizzas. Other dishes (pasta and sallads) were so-so. I have to say that I often wonder where some of these establishments get their fames from. This place seems to come up with a fantastic idea of making their pizzas enormous, twice the size of the plate. And that seemingly makes many happy customers since that is the only thing I see going for this place. Food is ok, I'm not saying that, but it's definitely not something you would remember long after.
But, the worst thing was the service. In Italy you are used to having a nice and professional service, and friendly. Our waiter could not care less what we thought and what we wanted to eat. In the end he was so tired of serving anyone that he ignored us and refused to come and get our coffee and desert orders, he just wanted us to leave because he was tired of his work. We did not talk much to other staff, but at least all those we tried to talk to and paid attention to, didn't seem very enthusiastic of their jobs either.
So, me, owner of a travel agency, will not go back to this restaurant but will happily bring my (and my clients') money to nicer and friendlier restaurants...
Read moreThe only thing preventing this from being a 1 star review is the food, which was decent. However, I would not say it is reasonably priced. The staff are somewhat friendly but definitely need to improve their communication (with each other) and organisation skills. One of our family members has allergies and we notified the waiter at the beginning when ordering. We were assured it was fine to order as usual from the menu and we placed our order. Our pizzas arrived and as my family member was about to start eating, the waiter rushed over and told us that the pizza may contain allergens. He then told us what we could order instead, which we went with. A few minutes later, a second waiter brought out the same original pizza to us that the first waiter had told us was no good due to the presence of allergens...we told him what his colleague had informed us and he took the pizza back again. Then, a third waiter approaches us and asks to take our order, not realising that we had already ordered. This place has a lot of potential, hopefully other diners have a better experience...
