L'Osteria di Caterina Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Dolceacqua

Sono deluso di dover sconsigliare questo posto, per coloro che sono alla ricerca di buon cibo e di un bel posto dove passare un momento gradevole consiglio di proseguire leggendo la mia esperienza e di valutare da voi se andarci o meno. Con questa premessa proseguiamo. Sono andato a mangiarci con la mia compagna sotto raccomandazione di un conoscente una sera, telefoniamo per sapere se era disponibile un posto per due e ci confermano il tavolo. Il luogo si trova nella piazza del borgo quindi è una ottima zona con parcheggi non troppo distanti(4 min a piedi) per chi vuole stare tra le strutture medievali e ottimo e fin qui tutto bene. Arriviamo nel luogo e troviamo una terrazza ben riparata da parasoli sedie e tavole in plastica però non ci diamo troppo caso, troviamo due servienti e il saluto è stato quasi strappato dalle loro bocche.. Ci facciamo riindirizzare al tavolo e prendiamo posto, ci danno un menù davvero limitato e tra le specialità trovare "pizza kebab" mi storce ancora più il naso però tento di sorvolare la cosa. Decisi su cosa mangiare facciamo l'ordinazione.. . che si è fatta attendere non poco nonostante ci fosserò 4 persone per 5 tavoli molti dei quali erano alla fine. Ecco cosa abbiamo preso: -Affettato misto -Tagliatelle alle Vongole -Trofie al pesto -Tagliata su rucola E come ultimo decido di mettere a confronto una delle loro specialità con quelle della zona della lomellina ovvero le Rane (sapevo a cosa potevo andare incontro, per il resto ero molto positivo). -Acqua da 1L -Un rossese di dolceacqua ( Alla scelta del vino ho fatto domande sul vino bianco alla cameriera che non ha saputo assolutamente rispondermi, sono rimasto basito) Arrivato il momento di mangiare ci portano l'affettato che non è stato atteso troppo a lungo, servito in un piatto piccolino per quello che doveva essere trovo una bella sorpresa... Salame piccante,salame ungherese, prosciutto cotto, speck e pancetta(non avevo ancora visto un affettato misto del genere) Salame piccante passabile, salame ungherese passabile, cotto era vecchio e probabile non ben conservato, speck tagliato spesso e vecchio, pancetta tagliato spesso. Passiamo ai primi le trofie confezionate e sul gommoso con pesto che era più aglio che basilico. Le tagliatelle alle vongole si credevano un pò meno elaborate nella ricetta, dentro troppa roba che copriva il sapore dei frutti di mare. Tagliata consegnata senza sapere il livello di cottura preferito, Troppo Nervosa e non omogenea nella cottura. Rane... Bhè sembravano rospi, sono abituato a rane decisamente più piccole e impanatura davvero lieve mentre quelle che mi sono state servite avevano quasi 8mm di impanatura cosa che ha rovinato il sapore delle rane e della cottura della loro carne(alcune parti erano quasi sul crudo) Il vino ?! Bhè nulla di eccezzionale troppo caro per la qualità del vino 24€ la bottiglia intera di Rossese di dolceacqua "Maccaro" si trova di meglio a questo prezzo. Riusciti a mangiare quel che si poteva mangiare (abbiamo lasciato troppo cibo indietro e non è da noi) decidiamo di evitare il dolce e di andare direttamente a pagare. Prezzo totale 73 circa e ci arrotondano il tot a 70. Molto economico come luogo e questo è il suo punto forte una bella zona ma se volete davvero mangiare non andate in quel posto se invece siete persone che non possono permettersi troppa spesa va benissimo, noi non siamo stati male fortunatamente dopo aver mangiato. Detto questo per i buongustai dico subito EVITATE...

This was the worst food I've ever had in my entire life.

I have a general rule, if I can make better at home with no cooking lessons, why bother going to a restaurant?

I took lamb and salad dish, and honestly, it's a shame they even consider serving this to people.

I was shocked to see the audacity to serve this.

The salad was a few days old, you could tell because the Roquette salad was yellow instead of green. The poor tomatoes on top of it had no taste.

The lamb chops,.. Were an absolute disgrace. There was only fat. The meat was no where to be found.

When I went to pay for the bill, they had charged me 1 euro extra which didn't make sense. When I asked for what it was, they told me it was for the napkin.

Are you kidding me? Since when do restaurants charge customers for napkins. Why not charge me for the fork and knife as well?

The atmosphere is horrible. The service was horrendous. The servers didn't even greet me, I had to signal to the after waiting to be seen. They were fighting while I was eating.

This place was very busy when we visited, full with a queue. So for service to be slow is fairly understandable, however we didn't see a single smile from any of the staff which was quite depressing. Our table had no breadsticks, and none were brought even after asking, nor butter. None of the staff appeared to speak much English or French. We had to ask several times for a beer and waited half an hour minimum for our food, though others who had arrived after us were served before us. The food was perfectly good, we had tagliatelle and ravioli with a side salad, but the worst thing was the oil and vinegar supplied were in nasty little plastic sachets, this in Italy and a region which produces its own olive oil - we could scarcely believe it!
