Terra di Mare Ristorante - Pizzeria — Restaurant in Durgali/Dorgali

We recently visited Terra di Mare in Cala Gonone with a dinner reservation. While the food was overall excellent, the service and value for money left much to be desired.

We started with the buffalo mozzarella and tomato appetizer. Unfortunately, it was quite underwhelming — a small portion and rather bland, especially for the €12 price tag. As for the main courses, they were a completely different story: I had the seafood special pizza, and my partner chose the spaghetti with clams. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic — generous portions, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing.

However, the service seriously detracted from our experience. Despite arriving on time with a reservation, we waited several minutes before being acknowledged and seated. After receiving menus, we were left waiting another 20 minutes before our order was taken. Drinks arrived, but were simply placed on the table — not even poured. The appetizer followed about 20 minutes later, and at that point, both of us were already feeling quite frustrated.

The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, moving about in a chaotic manner without much attention to the guests. To top it off, we noticed an automatic service charge added to the bill — something that feels out of place in most European restaurants, especially when the service doesn’t meet even basic expectations.

In summary: the food here is genuinely good, but the service quality and pricing don’t justify the overall experience. If you come, do it for the food — but be prepared for slow and inattentive service, and know that it might not feel...

Extremely slow service. It was very irritating having to observe, that the "head waitress or owner or I don't know" was exclusively serving and attending to only one table (probably friends) while she ignored her 3 busy, overworked waitresses struggling to cope serving the other 12-15 tables. We were trying to catch anyone's attention several times (when wanting to order, when trying to ask for salt and pepper, when trying to pay) but she was ignoring not only us. She once came to ask a table next to us, how the food was but didn't even wait for the answer assuming they would respond "good" which they didn't. The food was below average. Tasteless pasta sauce, caprese with only ONE TINY basil leaf for all tomatoes and mozzarella... No chance to ask for more as no chance to catch a waiters attention... Had to organise salt, pepper, olive oil and aceto balsamico ourselves and organising the bill also felt like "work" until we could finally leave the restaurant... Can't recommend and...

We had to wait 45 minutes seated without even being asked what we want to drink. Meanwhile 3 new guests came after us and already ordered. In the meantime we even got noticed but still got told to wait. The only reason we did not leave was because my girlfriend was too hungry and tired to search for a new place. Then while we were finally able to order, after around 20 minutes my girlfriends dish arrived. After another 30 minutes mine finally arrived. Her food already gotten cold because she did not want to let me eat alone. This kind of service is not acceptable and especially not in a tourism and culinary orientated country like italy. Its a shame because the location of the restaurant is very good. The waiters/manager also did not care, there were no signs of understanding or an apology/explanation. Even if the food would have been perfect (which it was not) this would not have been acceptable. Service like this does not...
