We stumped across this restaurant 2 nights ago as it's close to our hotel. What a gem! Long story short, we have been coming everyday for the dinner. This restaurant has many local customers which is a good sign. The food came out amazing, definely one of the best we had since we arrived in Italy more than a week ago. The pizzas are cooked on the spot, the pastas are tasty and don't get me started on the dry aged steak. The owner is very friendly and speaks good English, he recommended dished and wines and they are all very tasty. He makes feel like a friend and treat you like a local customers who live upstairs. The price is also very reasonable, definitely much cheaper than the restaurants near city centre. The waiter also doesn't pressure you or offer discount in exchange for a 5 stars review. (We've been to some restaurants that has very good google reviews scores and the food turns out to be very average, then being asked for a 5 start review for a 10% discount).

Ci siamo imbattuti in questo ristorante 2 notti fa perché è vicino al nostro hotel. Che gioiello! Per farla breve, veniamo ogni giorno per cena. Questo ristorante ha molti clienti locali, il che è un buon segno. Il cibo è venuto fuori in modo incredibile, sicuramente uno dei migliori che abbiamo avuto da quando siamo arrivati in Italia più di una settimana fa. Le pizze sono cucinate sul posto, la pasta è gustosa e non fatemi iniziare con la bistecca frollata a secco. Il proprietario è molto cordiale e parla bene l'inglese, ha consigliato piatti e vini e sono tutti molto gustosi. Ti fa sentire un amico e ti tratta come un cliente locale che vive al piano di sopra. Anche il prezzo è molto ragionevole, sicuramente molto più economico rispetto ai ristoranti vicino al centro città. Inoltre, il cameriere non ti fa pressione né ti offre sconti in cambio di una recensione a 5 stelle. (Siamo stati in alcuni ristoranti che hanno ottimi punteggi nelle recensioni di Google e il cibo si è rivelato molto nella media, poi ci è stata chiesta una recensione a 5 stelle per uno...

My wife and I came to Florence for our honeymoon and needed a place to eat while fresh off the plane and our hotel recommended Penta Bistrot. The service is immediately welcoming, attentive and quick. The food matches the service and I can safely say the pizza I ate (Zar) was the best I have had, and I never want to eat another pizza not made in Italy again if they are all to this standard.
