Although only designated as a 2-star hotel, this 10-room hotel was absolutely perfect for my week long stay in Florence. The hotel is well located in a nice quiet street just a 10-minute walk from the main railway station. The facilities are simple and basic, the room was clean and there was ample space for a single room. There was a couple of minor points, the mattress was a bit too soft for my liking (the hotel was in the process of replacing mattresses during my stay) and the shower cubicle is very narrow and would be awkward for a larger framed person. The breakfast which is included in the price is very simple, coffee, juice, bread rolls, cheese and preserves but filled me up for the day ahead. Undoubtedly the outstanding factor at the hotel is the customer care provided primarily by Antonio. He welcomed me by my name and was engaging, friendly, helpful and informative throughout my stay. My return flight home was cancelled due to weather, a quick call from the airport to Antonio and I was fixed up for another night, this time in a larger double room. ||I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for anyone visiting Florence looking for a simple hotel which I have no doubt would be enjoyed by any guest. I certainly would stay...
Read moreStayed here for 4 nights in May 2018. Hotel is approx 10 minutes walk from train station and easy to find. It is set in a quiet neighbourhood about twenty minutes from the centre. We had a room on the ground floor, the room is a little dated but comfortable, very clean and quiet. We had 4 nights good sleep; the bathroom is fine, the shower is cubicle is small but all the plumbing worked well and there was always hot water. Antonio the owner is very helpful and seems like a thoroughly nice person. He gave us a map on arrival and showed us where the major attractions were and some ideas on where to visit. Our electrical adaptor did not fit the sockets but Antonio had one that we could use. He serves breakfast every day: it is a simple affair: bread/croissants, jam, soft cheese, orange juice, coffee, yoghurt. It is a little old fashioned in many ways but we loved staying there and it provides excellent value for money. Some local restaurants to recommend: Fuoco Matto, Trattoria Guelfa, Osteria Vecchio Cancello...
Read moreNear the Santa Maria Novella station, bus station and public park. It was walkable to the piazza (for us). but far enough from the crowds. Very quiet area and hotel. Good for couples and who wants peace and quiet from crowds. Probably not good for big rowdy groups. Dont judge the outside of the building (looks old) for the inside. Newly renovated and everything seemed brand new. You need a code to get into the building and your room- they dont use keycards Room and bed are big- bigger that most We have seen in Europe. Enough spaces for luggages. Room had a balcony. Equipped with a kettle and fridge. Bathroom has a bidet, heater rack and dual shower heads - over the head and removable. If you are on the bigger and larger side, you might find the shower a bit tight and small. Overall good and has all we need for a place to rest, shower and go back out again on a...
