Tripperia Vegana TAN8 — Restaurant in Florence

Trust me five stars all the way. It is 100% vegan all sandwich place. Limited number of curated options, all gourmet sandwiches designed after a meat equivalent but 100% vegan. We loved it. The flavors explode in your mouth, the bread, greens, sauces, mushroom base meat and pickles onions all add layers of flavor. You might want to order two per person because you are going to love it and order upfront to avoid waiting again.

The restaurant is take out only or should I say “drop out”- you place the order on the website, get a WhatsApp Message and you reply when you join the line below the balcony. A friendly person, most times the chef himself, pops out of balcony and ensure you are next in line and only then start making the sandwich. Then they put it in a basket and drop down using a rope. That is the experience. Come on, where else are you going to get it? It is a scene to watch sandwiches being roped down. You pick up yours and eat either at the two “cycle top” benches or at the park Bench across the main road. As soon as you finish the hot and spicy and flavorful sandwich you are telling yourself, I wish I had ordered two and you see the line growing and the wait time scares you. See above and so just order two.

If you are a tourist the tram line T2 from SM. takes you close and it is about 5 min walk. Well worth the schlep. We saw only locals coming there and there were loads. Go for the experience , food that is gourmet and happens to...

Abbiamo deciso di provare la tripperia vegana e, visto che il posto ha una media di 5 stelle, mi sono chiesto: cosa avranno mai da dire quei critici culinari mancati che si aggirano per Google come fossero Gordon Ramsay in un giorno NO o Alessandro Borghese pronto a girare una puntata extra di 4 Ristoranti? Così, ho puntato dritto alle recensioni negative. Tra le migliori? ..Alla fine è pane con funghi.. Beh, sì, i funghi sono la base della preparazione. È un po’ come andare in una pizzeria e sorprendersi che usino i pelati 🍅.

Trovare il posto è semplicissimo: Google Maps ti porta direttamente sotto al balcone, senza il minimo problema, e sul sito è tutto spiegato alla perfezione, dal come arrivare al come ordinare. Certo, l’esperienza ha comunque un tocco avventuroso, un po’ in stile Indiana Jones: meno serpenti, più tecnologia e un cestino calato dal primo piano con una corda. Già solo questo varrebbe cinque stelle, ma l’accoglienza dello chef, che regala una battuta a ogni cliente, rende tutto ancora più unico e piacevole.

L’ordine, confermato velocemente su WhatsApp, è stato preparato a tempo di record e consegnato caldissimo. E il panino? Esattamente come richiesto: succosissimo, saporito, e con quel tocco in più dato dalla possibilità di scegliere persino quanto "bagnato" lo vuoi.

Ah, e parliamo del mio panino: avevo scelto il livello "piccante abbestia." 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Un nome che già mette in guardia, ma io pensavo fosse un’esagerazione. Spoiler: non lo era. Il risultato? Una trappola perfetta, come se avessero preso il mio ordine alla lettera e volessero sfidarmi. Dramma e gioia in un unico boccone! 😋

Ho letto che qualcuno si lamentava che “i panini sono tutti uguali.” Beh, noi ne abbiamo presi tre, perché a mangiarli eravamo in due, e posso assicurare che ogni morso è stato un viaggio. Io sono riuscito a divorare un panino intero e a dare un morso alle altre due bestie vegane. La mia compagna, invece, dopo aver finito il suo, era pronta a dichiararsi sconfitta. Quello che avanza? Non vedo l’ora di gustarmelo più tardi, è già lì che mi aspetta come un premio per la mia lungimiranza.

Il gusto è davvero incredibile: ogni boccone parla di ingredienti di qualità e di una passione sincera per il cibo. La descrizione di “pane con funghi” non rende giustizia all’arte che c’è dietro questi panini.

Un elogio speciale va allo chef per la sua simpatia e pazienza: riesce a rispondere con ironia e gentilezza anche ai commenti più improbabili, rendendo l’esperienza ancora più piacevole e memorabile.

In sintesi: se siete tipi che amano lamentarsi senza motivo, questo posto non fa per voi. Troverete cibo troppo buono, persone troppo gentili, e un’esperienza che lascia poco spazio alla negatività. Io? Tornerò...

Unparalleled experience. For any vegan visiting Florence, this place MUST be on your to do list. The service is unique (literally, I think) and the panini are possibly the best vegan food I EVER tried. I lived in Milan and then the West Coast (Vancouver) where vegan food is super common and you have a ton of great options - but nothing compares to these smoking trippa panini lowered from a balcony. I ate one without even taking the time to look into it to understand what the “trippa” was - although it was obviously not seitan, as I was expecting, or one of the various fake pulled meats you find in groceries. I won’t spoil it but yes it’s all natural and HEALTHY besides being the most ridiculously delicious junk food...
