HORRIBLE, AVOID. 3 people asked if we wanted water because they can charge extra for that. it’s SUPER OVERPRICED.
Don’t try to go to the bathroom either; there were no doorknobs, the lock wasn’t usable because it was broken, and it looked like it was used by the homeless. Same goes for the overall place, as the plastic chairs had no pillows, and the table beside us wasn’t cleaned for 30 minutes (after the family had already left.) The place was super loud, some tables were given a lights, some didn’t, and it was hard to hear my brother, who was sitting next to me.
The waiters were rude, the only nice guy was the one who lead us in to create the illusion of a nice staff. Multiple tables around us clearly looked displeased, were ignored by the staff, or also had to wait 30-40 minutes for a tiny dessert. We were seated at around 9:30 pm and weren’t served any food till 10:34.
Not even talking about the food, because everything looked either super oily, undercooked, or like it was scraped together from other customers’ leftovers (or some combination of these 3), tasted average at best but definitely not worth the price, and I had to wait over 40 minutes for a Caesar salad after ordering. The fried calamri looked WHITE, and was served with no dip or anything. The pasta with clams had MULTIPLE empty shells and clams that we had to open with our nails because it wasn’t opened by the staff.
We paid almost €80 for 3 people and a horrible experience and the bill wasn’t even under the name on the banner or the google location. It was probably changed to try and escape the bad reviews....
Read moreTL;DR: looks like a tourist trap near the port; I recommend to avoid it.
We were looking for a place to have a modest dinner and went for the place with the highest rating in the neighborhood. What we got? 15€ for a starter (kind of OK), 13€ for a pizza (kind of OK for the specific pizza we chose), it's 28€ in total. However, we paid 40€ in total. How come? When the waitress asked us if we want to drink anything, we asked for sparkling water. A 75cl of sparkling water took another 5€ in the bill (of course, the default was to bring the most expensive water without asking anything). Then, 2 adults were charged 3.5€ each. So, even if we assume the 5€ for the water was OK, we paid 7€ on top of 33€ for nothing. When a host presented the bill, he said "service not included." Maybe he was right: the service was bad, so there was nothing to include. Other than 7€ "coperto" which of course is only mentioned in the end of the menu and wasn't clarified in advance.
The food was average (as in "not great, not terrible"). Can't say any of the dishes was bad; we just had eaten much better pizza in Italy for 13€ (however, all the pizzas we had eaten in Genoa or Sicily during this trip were much better).
The service was rather careless. Both people working as waiters were busier with either their phone or cleaning another table than with us (in a cafe with only, like, 3 tables occupied).
I felt treated as a money bag,...
Read moreOn my list of places to be avoided in Forio. I have been to a lot of restaurants in Ischia this and last year as I like to spend my money on food & wine, but this place will not see my wallet again! Food was good but unfortunately good flavor is not enough - if the service fails, this is R.I.P for me. Especially here, where you are supposed to experience the real hospitality of Ischia… We ordered 3 main dishes, bottle of wine. We received it quite fast (Monday evening, around 8:30 pm CET); and…that was it! Since that time no one came to us again. No one asked if we want more water, wine, dessert. After over 40 minutes since we finished to eat, I asked a waiteress (a young lady with - what an irony! - angel wings at the back of her T-Shirt) if she could give us a menu (so that we can order desserts) and she just rolled her eyes (like ‚what the hell you want from me?!’) and answered „I dont speak English!”). For god sake! „Menu” is the same in English and other languages! Plus I said „carta, per favore” , „vorrei il dolce” but she ignored that. She did not even tell anyone else who speaks our, oh so complicated, language to come to us and ask if we are fine. Very rude! It is becouse of the service we did not like the place and we will not recommend it. They charge 10,50 EUR for the service - worst...
