Lievita 72 — Restaurant in Gallipoli

I was excited to try this place after reading the stellar reviews and being obsessed with the fluffy neopolitan pizzas. The pizza did not disappoint and tasted amazing, the crust is the best part. The house wine is also lovely and would recommend.

Unfortunately, we had awful service here and this was confirmed by looking round the room and seeing the same experience repeated by many other diners. The table next to us ended up storming out and didn't bother eating.

It took over 40minutes to get someone to serve us from being seated. During the previous 30minutes we asked 4 members of staff passing by if we could order a drink. They kept saying, yes, walked off and never came back. One waiter said 'sorry one moment I can't serve you, I don't speak any English' (spoken in perfect English, not even struggling).

We finally got to place our drinks order, and pizzas since we waited so long. The food was quick to arrive, within 15minutes. But the nightmare was the drinks didn't turn up till way after the food. It was an hour into the meal total when we finally got our drinks. I always think any restaurant experience, if busy, can be saved by quickly getting the drinks out. Instead we sat annoyed waiting for anything to happen.

Now perhaps this all happened because it was a busy part of the evening, but many tables cleared out and I could see multiple members of staff spending their time clearing tables and resetting tables for no one to sit at them. All the while refusing to serve us.

It might have just been a bad evening, but multiple tables I could see had this. With some basic improvements to service this place would be incredible. Again, feel like it must be rare as its so well reviewed.

All in all it's worth it and would still thoroughly recommend.

Oh one last thing, the translated menu to English is awful and makes it really hard to read the online menu. Would recommend trying to get your phone browser to translate the Italian version so it...

Chaotic pizzeria in chaotic Gallipoli. Even though our range of choice was shortened to 3 pizzas by the waitress, all of them were very good Neapolitan pizzas. Unfortunately the service was a bit of a disappointment. As a non Italian speaker you felt quite unwelcome. We came right to the opening at 19:30 when the whole restaurant was completely empty and on every table the reservation was saying from 20:30 or 21:30. As I know that a good Neapolitan pizza is ready within 3 min I don’t understand why we were seated on the only non-reserved table which was windiest place on the street and not inside of the restaurant. Upon asking if we could sit at one of the reserved tables, which we could’ve easily left in time, we were told that this was only possible at an additional cost of 20€. We left shortly before 20:00. The restaurant was still empty, our stomach were luckily full and our heads blown half to shreds. It’s as that the experience of a pizza this good is then dampened by a service this...

Sono stato ieri sera presso Lievita 72 insieme a mia moglie e mio figlio per festeggiare il compleanno di quest'ultimo, e devo dire che l'esperienza è stata assolutamente fantastica. La pizzeria si trova in una nuova sede, inaugurata a luglio del 2022, situata nella via più importante e centrale di Gallipoli, Corso Roma. La location è semplicemente magnifica, curata nei minimi particolari e trasmette un'atmosfera accogliente e piacevole.

All'interno del locale, oltre alla sala al piano terra, c'è anche una spaziosa sala sulla terrazza con una bellissima vista sulla città. Entrambi gli ambienti sono curati e arredati con gusto, creando un'atmosfera piacevole e raffinata. Inoltre, la decisione di non accettare prenotazioni si è rivelata una scelta giusta, in quanto evita i possibili ritardi dei clienti per il parcheggio e altri imprevisti, che potrebbero compromettere l'organizzazione del lavoro. Basta arrivare e trovare un posto disponibile, aspettare il proprio turno altrimenti, si può sempre optare per un'altra soluzione nelle vicinanze.

Il personale di Lievita 72 merita un plauso particolare: sono tutti gentili, cordiali e estremamente professionali. Ci hanno accolto con un sorriso e ci hanno guidato nella scelta dei piatti con grande competenza e cortesia. Non solo, hanno saputo rendere il compleanno di mio figlio davvero speciale, portandoci un delizioso dolce con le candeline per festeggiare l'occasione. È stato un gesto molto apprezzato da parte di tutti noi.

Parlando del cibo, devo dire che la qualità delle pizze di Lievita 72 è eccezionale. La pasta è lievitata alla perfezione, un po' croccante fuori e morbida all'interno. Il condimento è distribuito in modo equilibrato, con ingredienti freschi e di ottima qualità. Ogni morso è stato un'autentica delizia per il palato. Senza dubbio, questa è una delle migliori pizze che si possano assaporare a Gallipoli e nei dintorni.

Devo sottolineare che i prezzi sono medio alti, ma in linea con la splendida location, il servizio impeccabile e la qualità delle materie prime utilizzate. Credo fermamente che il valore offerto da Lievita 72 giustifichi pienamente il conto. Consiglio vivamente questa pizzeria a tutti coloro che desiderano vivere un'esperienza culinaria indimenticabile, in un ambiente raffinato e con un servizio di prim'ordine.

Bravi continuate così, mantenendo alta la qualità e l'attenzione per i dettagli. Sono certo che continuerete ad affascinare e deliziare i vostri clienti con la vostra cucina eccellente e il servizio impeccabile. Non vedo l'ora di...
