Trattoria Il Galeone — Restaurant in Genoa

10€ for a very sad-looking and not tasty "Il Genovese" mixed starter that was missing the Russian salad that was indicated on the menu. When we asked where that was, they responded that they ran out and so they had replaced the salad with two mini foccacias as they usually only give one (those 2 things in the middle....that has GOT to be a joke). Husband ordered a pesto lasagna and we got something that didn't look at all like a lasagna unless that's how a pesto lasagna is supposed to look like? Ordered a mixed dried seafood but essentially not really a mix cause it was all just little pieces of calamari and one prawn. The only decent dish was the grilled squid and salad. I had the pansoti which was fine, but this was my second choice as they had run out of the pesto minestrone soup as well (we went after 14h00). If all the other places were closing, I would never...

If you want to try the traditional “Trofie Al Pesto” dish, this place is for you! The pesto was amazing and it wasn’t that expensive either. The pasta was very good, too. They also serve chestnut gnocchi with pesto, that were also very good. I liked the location as well, as you can sit outside in the cute tiny streets of Genova. Another pro: we arrived quite late (around 10PM) and nearly no other restaurant would serve us anymore, so we didn’t even plan to go here, it was just a lucky...

I mean wow! Beautiful experience that was very authentic… so authentic that our meal ended speaking broken Spanish/Italian with the chef himself and his wife about himself and life and his restaurant. He assured us that our experience (as tourists) is the exact same as anyone else who comes - be it his family, local Genovese, or Italians from other cities. Also, price of food was beyond reasonable! So glad to have eaten here,...
