Ciro Purpetta - Ischia — Restaurant in Ischia

I'm very surprised that this spot has such a high rating. To start, the restaurant was not very busy (about 5 tables), our bottle of wine was sour and almost undrinkable but obviously they don't have much control of that, i ordered a beer and they forgot for 10 minutes until i reordered and they acted like I never ordered one the first place. We ordered the meatballs for an appetizer, and they were cold and pink in the middle. They took them away, and we waited an additional 15 minutes, and they were still sub-par. The waiter recommended a pizza, and we ordered 2 more pizzas for dinner. Their recommended pizza had meatballs on it and...SUPRISE, they were cold! The pizzas were super wet and floppy, and the recommended pizza had a faint smell of.. cigarettes? We were a table of 4, and we ate about 5 slices of pizza total and left the rest. The wait staff was polite and attentive, but to see that this was a 5 star spot was VERY disappointing. Hope this...

What a dump! We got some paper dry “meatballs” probably made with 90% bread a week prior. Returned them after one bite. No apology, manager just came and swiftly yanked them off the table with a frustrated “you don’t like this?” Of course, they forgot to take them off the bill at the end. Same was true of the eggplant meatballs. The linguine con vongole was the saltiest oiliest pasta i’ve ever tasted. The two pizzas we’ve tried were a sloppy floppy goo similar to a wet t-shirt - just tried to eat some of the toppings.

Only one white and one red wine by the glass on the menu.

We tried to “eat” and bounce as fast we could to look for a nice pizza elsewhere.

Fast service. Nice garden full of unsuspecting...

Almost a complete disaster. The only positive point where the “Polpette di Melenzane”. Very long waiting time both to order and in particular to receive the food.

We had: Polpette di Melenzane: Good Mozzarelle in Carrozza: not so great Pasta alla puttanesca: quite bad and oily. Pasta alla Nerano: Uneatable: sweet, full of oil. Bread: dry and old Wine: not so great

The stuff was nice, and the atmosphere is not so bad, the idea of reuse the water bottle is great, but the food needs a massive review, at least...
