Pizzeria Pulcinella — Restaurant in La Spezia

Ordered "treats" for starter and it must have been the most tasteless dish Ive ever eaten and not as described. It said rice/cheese balls with a Ragu sauce and chips on the menu but there was no ragu sauce or rice to be seen. Just the most bland battered and fried cheese I've ever eaten. My pasta mains was uninspiring and the waiter appeared to have forgotten my order as I had to prompt him after my partner had totally finished their dinner that I was still waiting. The waiter claimed he hadn't forgotten us and that the food was on his way altho strangely he had to reconfirm my order. I would rather he just held his hands up and admitted his mistake. Prices were average. Really wish we had of persevered in the queue next door as the food seems to be better there (from reading reviews) I'm being fair with my 3 stars as my partner enjoyed the vegan pasta the chef made especially. This restaurant is in a good location and it receives a lot of good review, that's why we chose it. The waiter who took our order cannot speak English but he is really polite. We ordered one pizza , two pasta and grilled squid. Pizza came first, and it's just so-so. We almost finished our pizza and still kept wating for other dishes to come. Then I asked the waiter who took our order as he cannot speak English so another guy came to help. He replied with we are not Mcdonalds, so we need time to cook foods which I found it is really rude. Still I tried to explain that I asked because in the receipt there are only pizza and drink on it. No use! He told us that is to pay later, not even listened on what I wanted to say!!! If i had known, I would have gone to Mcdonalds instead. At least Mcdonalds wont ruin my mood. To be fair, their price is reasonable though but the food is soso in both...

pasta was really good, especially the ravioli di pesce but unfortunately service was terrible even for takeaway. cashier was rude and impatient and started ignoring me while i was halfway through ordering, the server had to help me speak to him by ordering for me. we were informed we had to wait about 15 minutes for our pasta but ended up waiting 50 minutes instead even after checking in. we didn’t even get offered a seat though there were many empty tables as it was past the peak dinner time, and only got offered a seat in the last 10 minutes by one of the servers. the severs were nice though, and apologised for the long wait. the pizza guy also stared at us constantly throughout our wait. would not recommend to asians and even other POCs. a real pity the food was actually good as it was not worth the wait...
