Caffè Paisiello - Food & drink — Restaurant in Lecce

Unacceptable waitress behaviour. We ordered lots of food in this cafe, but one of us happened to have a small pot of take-away ice-cream from the cafe across the road (this cafe doesn’t sell ice cream). When the waitress saw it she very rudely shouted at us to go away with that ice-cream. Again, all the other food on our table was bought in this cafe, so we didn’t know what to do in this situation and just waited for her to stop shouting and disappear. My friend asked to speak to the manager, to what the waitress said: “I am tired, you can do whatever you want!”. A minute later she returned add continued shouting on and on about how she hates it when people bring ice-cream from accros the road. To stop this madness we went and sat across the road with all our food. Absolutely shocking behaviour and manner of communication from this waitress. It is a touristic place in the middle of a busy old town area, so they probably can afford not to care about a good impression, as the place would fill despite of this aggressive waitress. Nice local bar on a quiet piazza. Good food but extremely brusque and rude service. We ordered cafe, supremeta, a bottle of water and two panini. We got our drinks and waited 20 minutes for the panini. No problem: we’re in a comfortable place to wait, but it did seem that our order had been forgotten. When we politely inquired about it in Italian, the waitress rudely cut us off and said to speak English so she could understand us. Funny…we’re pretty fluent Italian and everyone else is fine conversing with us. There was simply no need for her to be so rude. We popped in on a very hot day for a quick lunch and the puccia with mortadella, burrata and pesto al pistacchio was good. We didn’t have any issues with the service. They weren’t exactly friendly but not rude either. They have bathrooms but it wasn’t the cleanest and there was no toilet paper. I assume most people sit on the terrace however we were desperate for air conditioning as it was a boiling day so we sat inside but the interior is very average.
