Maccheroni — Restaurant in Lecce

We went on Aug 2021 twice ! It is located in the old city so you have to park outside, difficult to find parking spots. I suggest to look for places here: 9559+H9 Lecce ( copy and paste in google maps) You can find spots 5 minutes walking from Napoli gate, 0,60 euros per hour.After 21 h you don’t pay ( but difficult to find places)

It’s recommended to reserve in advance, mainly if you want a table outside. Inside you need to show the Covid pass. Inside the temperature is higher and externally but acceptable. Of course it’s always full and the service can be slow: recommended to arrive soon…

Toilets are clean. Staff is nice and attentive.

We tasted the vegetarian options, Starter we experimented was generous and tasteful (Fave & cicorelle) Macheroni (al sugo) honest but not too much tasteful. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was truly unacceptable. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food to arrive, with no apology, no explanation, and absolutely no sense of urgency from the staff. When we tried to politely ask about our order, the staff responded with visible irritation and rudeness, making it clear that customer service is not a priority here.

When the food finally arrived, it was a complete letdown. Bland, uninspired, and poorly prepared — easily one of the worst meals I’ve ever had in Italy. It lacked any of the quality or flavor you'd expect from an authentic Italian kitchen.

This restaurant thrives on location, not quality. The service was shockingly unprofessional, the wait times unacceptable, and the food simply not worth your time or money.

Sorry, but I dont recommend this place. We sat waiting a long time for our order to be taken. The coke on tap tasted watered down. We waited a very long time for food to arrive and asked for an update from a waiter who tried to argue and make excuses, but it wasn't very good at all when it eventually arrived. We were served food on chipped/damaged plates, and the plates didn't seem very clean to be honest.

The parmigiana seemed microwaved, the pasta my companions had was just awful. The mixed grill seemed underweight (you pay per 500g) and when we queried this the waiter argued with us. Some of the meat was almost raw. We also saw another table lodging a complaint that they had waited an hour with nothing to show for it.
