I an hesitant to write a review as the owner cannot take any critisism (based on previous reviews) and usually comes back and insults the reviewer personally, however as we booked this place based on the good reviews we had seen, I feel its only fair to give our experience. We have travelled all over Italy in the past and spent an amazing week travelling around Puglia this time, during this time we have eaten in many restaurants and this was the only one to disappoint. Three of us had the mussels to start, they were ok, very salty but not too bad. Another of our party had the aubergine which was inedible. My husband ordered the fillet steak, which was not a fillet but it was cooked nicely and to his taste. Myself and my friend ordered pasta with mullet, when it came out the pasta was raw, not al dente, raw. We complained and our dishes were taken away and replaced with a different pasta , which was nearly as bad the sauce was beige and was very over seasoned. The pieces of fish were tiny and I suspect not fresh , maybe frozen, we didnt eat much of this. We were given some lemon cello of the house which was nice. The bill came to 220 for 4 starters, 4 mains and two bottles of wine and some water. I would...
Read moreI normally only write reviews if I’ve had a positive experience but I am making an exception for this place. We booked based on the many 5 star reviews. The food was the worst we have had in Italy so far. All the food was the same colour when it came out. The aubergine starter was stringy and without any flavour or seasoning.the mussels with fried bread was the best dish we had but was average. The grouper with pasta large pasta rings was so ‘al Dente’ as to be completely inedible. This was removed when we complained with the explanation ‘that’s how we serve it here’ it was replaced with spaghetti which was almost as bad. The fillet of steak was not fillet but was ok to eat. We were given complimentary lemon cello at the end which was nice. The service was pleasant enough but no enquiry about why I ate nothing. The bill for 4 was 220 euro which was expensive for what we got and for the location of...
Read moreWe chose this restaurant based on tripadvisor. We were little bit surprised by the location and poor entrance but we know that you dont judge italian restaurant by first impression. As a starter we had fava and zuccini flowers . We made sure to communicate that we dont eat meat and fish - we are vegetarians. Starters were good. For main course we ordered two pasta dishes typical for Puglia. One was ok but the other - orecchiette con le cime di rapa - tasted and smelled like fish and was extremely salty and overcooked. The waitress explained that it might have been prepared in the pan after fish and it is ok. We didnt eat the disguisting meal and they simply took it away without an apology. After we asked for the bill , she removed from our table only half finished bottle of our wine without asking. The rest was very unpleasant, we simply paid and they didnt even...
