PIZZA 33 — Restaurant in Lecce

Primarily a takeaway with a few tables and chairs for those who prefer to eat in. The pizzas have a crisp thin base with fresh ingredients on top. Delicious and tasty. Very reasonable prices. As English tourists we were helped by the gentleman at the desk. We arrived just after 7.00pm and were asked if we could come back at 8.00pm to allow the ovens to heat up. Just to clarify, 4 stars is a good rating, not a negative one. I appreciate the effort and quality, and I believe 4 stars should be seen as an opportunity to grow, not as criticism.

For context: nearby pizzeria Rosetta offers a similar setup with no table service, yet they’ve been friendlier overall, which is why I gave them 5 stars for service. A warm, welcoming attitude can make a big difference—even in a self-service setting.

It is a shame we can only give 5 stars, we give 10! We came here twice for pizza. After we saw a 1 star review with a very passionate response from the chef, we had to come and try! Because if you cook with the same passion, it must be great! The passion was also in the food, the best pizza we had here in Lecce by far!
