This restaurant made our trip to Livorno. Authentic, fresh. The carpaccio was something I have not experienced. The cold platter meats with the white wine. The bread that was served in brown paper bags with no Olivio oil. Just bread, which was later dipped into my rich arrabiata pasta sauce and the taste of fresh Italian tomatoes. To be honest I personally did not feel comfortable about the surrounding place or Livorno in general. But I walked past this place in its glass enclosure, and I just felt somehow assured and I wondered how this place was not packed and we could get a table so easily. As we ate our food, we realised there were more locals than tourists, and I found the whole experience so overwhelmingly positive and authentic - I thank them for that. It was funny because the locals were watching me enjoy the food, and could see we were not from Italy, but they were also confused about what was so good about our order. Not worth the money at all. I personally did not like my food. First course was too salty and second course was too much vinegar, I only ate 2 bites. It was super expensive , especially for Italy. It's the only time I have felt ripped off in Italy. I will not go back. I do not recommend it. My husband thought it was okay but overpriced. €50 for 2 glasses of wine and 4 side dishes, terrible. In comparison: Today I went to La Cantina Di Alfredo, near Lucca. For €68 we had 2 glasses of wine, 2 big bottles of water, fried bread, a potato starter, a big bowl of pasta with wild pig sauce, a wonderful veal chop and a fabulous big steak Florentine. Excellent restaurant / wine bar inside the market, you can sit at the counter, inside an enclosed dining area or at tables in middle of market area. Our waiter spoke excellent English (and French) and was really helpful and knowledgeable providing some great wine recommendations.

The menu has some starters, pasta, fish/meat options and desert. They are very flexible as to sharing and ordering anything you want. Our spaghetti with clams was delicious.
