A family-run business where the father catches the fish, the mother cooks, and the daughters serve. They are full of love. We spoke with the fisherman father—such a warm and genuine person. The daughters were just as lovely. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet the mother since she was busy in the kitchen, of course.
The food is truly excellent. You can tell it’s made by someone who really knows how to cook. I had the best octopus dish I’ve ever tasted here. The seafood platter was so delicious that we almost licked our fingers clean! The clams and oysters were absolutely divine. For dessert, we had yogurt and olive oil gelato, which was simply exquisite.
The service was a bit slow. I would’ve loved it if our drinks were refilled more promptly. Prices are higher compared to other restaurants in Livorno, and they explained that it’s because they catch the seafood themselves. The music was a bit loud for my taste, especially when we were seated inside. It was much better when we moved outside, but I’d suggest they switch to softer tunes and a more thoughtfully curated playlist. The interior design also felt a bit over the top—something more minimal would suit the atmosphere better.
But don’t get me wrong, we absolutely loved L’Amo and the wonderful people there. We hope you have as delightful an...
Read moreThe whole thing was terrible. They didn’t have what we wanted on the menu so we had to get our second choice, pasta al pomodoro con burrata e formaggio verde. Way too expensive for what it was worth. There was barely any burrata (like a teaspoonful) and it’s like there was no cheese at all it was flavourless. They brought us grilled calamari on the house, which was way overcooked and hard as hell. The waitress looked annoyed with everyone the whole time not the...
