Durante un breve soggiorno a Livorno con la mia famiglia, abbiamo deciso di cenare al ristorante Vecchia Venezia, scelto in base alle recensioni positive. Le aspettative erano alte.

La posizione è davvero suggestiva, all’aperto vicino al canale – l’atmosfera iniziale era perfetta. Tuttavia, tutto è cambiato quando ho assaggiato l’Antipasto di mare.

Le alici erano fresche, ma le patate con polpo erano acide, con un odore sgradevole e un chiaro retrogusto di pesce andato a male. Ho fatto notare la cosa alla cameriera, ma la risposta è stata: “L’hanno mangiato tutti ed è andato bene”. Nessuna scusa, nessuna proposta di cambiare il piatto.

Come portata principale ho preso il cacciucco: tutti gli ingredienti erano freschi, tranne – di nuovo – il polpo. Ne ho mangiato solo una parte, senza alcuna voglia di finire il piatto.

Quando è arrivato il conto, l’antipasto andato a male era incluso. Solo dopo la nostra segnalazione l’hanno tolto. Abbiamo comunque pagato 80€ per...
