Nelson Tavern — Restaurant in Livorno

Me and my husband ended up at Nelson Tavern by coincidence. We were walking through Livorno with our dogs, started feeling hungry (before their opening time) and tried our luck to see if we would already by able to have something small before their dinner shift. The staff was extremely helpful and immediately welcomed us in (including our dogs, Italians really are the best people!)

We started off with a charcuterie plate and after that we both had a spaghetti, my husband ordered the sea food spaghetti and I tried the bottarga spaghetti. Man, those flavours really hit home... The chef really knows his food art! The waitor suggested a great wine which would go great with the dish and he really didn't disappoint!

If you're ever in Livorno: don't go anywhere else before you went to Nelson Tavern and say hi to them...

In un gruppo di sei persone a nessuno è stato servito un cocktail fatto bene. Dal semplice americano ai loro "speciali" siamo rimasti delusi. In compenso i piatti che accompagnavano erano davvero squisiti. Forse un compromesso sarebbe stato l'ideale.

Mi duole leggere la sua risposta, evidentemente non ha colto il lato costruttivo della recensione. Mettere in dubbio anche la sola presenza è triste da parte sua, dimostra pure come non sappiate monitorare i clienti nella loro presenza e soddisfazione. Per dirne una, io personalmente ho preso un Hugo, il quale era mancante di tutto e giudicato dai miei amici come un semplice prosecco con ghiaccio e menta. Vada dunque a vedere il pagamento di 10€ con quel cocktail e poi ripassi a ribadire che non siano stati davvero nel locale (anzi nella panca fuori pure dai gazebo, abbastanza triste). In tutto questo non tornerò ad aggiungere altro, la volontà di darvi una seconda possibilità adesso viene del tutto meno, eviterò sicuramente altre delusioni. Ed infine forse sarebbe meglio che i suoi barman rivedessero i loro standard di conoscenza. Buon tutto, ricordi sempre che un fiore può nascere anche dalla...

Really friendly kind helpful staff, great appetizers with a lot of stuff to pick up even for celiacs, people with no dairy restrictions or veggies. But, above all, great draft beers: bombardiers, classic Guinness, welcome McEvans (even if lager only).
