Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations
We were really excited to try this seafood restaurant, especially since it came highly recommended by our hotel. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. The place was so busy that the service was almost non-existent—we were barely acknowledged throughout the meal.
We ordered a crudo dish that included oysters and shrimp. One oyster was so bad I had to spit it out, while the other was thankfully fresh. The shrimp were clearly old—brown in color and mushy inside. The fish overall did not taste fresh at all, which is very surprising and disappointing for a seafood-focused restaurant.
On a positive note, the pasta was excellent and the wine selection was very nice, which made it all the more frustrating that the quality of the seafood and the service didn’t match.
No one checked in on us during the meal, and when we finally flagged down a server to express our concerns, he simply said “wait” and never returned. The whole interaction felt careless and awkward, as though customer service was the last thing on their minds.
We made sure to inform the hotel about our experience and suggested they reconsider recommending this place to...
Read moreApps: mussels and clams and trittico di tartare. Mussels and clams was a tad overcooked but a good dish. Trittico di tartare threw me off.... the description clearly said salmone but they clearly gave me shrimp... we asked about it but they kept saying salmon is shrimp. A total rip off!!! I know my fish!!!
First course: spaghetti with cuttle fish and spaghetti marinara. Spaghetti with cuttlefish was interesting. It is squid ink pasta but it was practically squid ink the entire dish. It wasn’t bad. Pasta had a decent texture but man everything was black... i guess it was a squid ink sauce dish... Spaghetti marinara was much better. Seafood was a tad overcooked again but the pasta and flavor was good.
Second course: caciucco. Fish stew? What were we thinking?!?! It was a dish of sea monsters!!! That were super overcooked!! When you bite into the octopus, it was like eating paste... It was sooo bizarre. Only had a few bites and couldn’t continue.
Dessert: tiramisu. Ah...the tiramisu.... their best dish we had. A hint of rum flavor, lightly sweetened, nice and cold.
Was kind of expecting the food to be a bit better for a restaurant...
Read moreIt’s nice a restaurant. Food was ok but we were sat between, someone who looked and acted like a gangster. Highly inappropriate behaviour, like shouting/ grunting very loudly then laughing for attention. He also kept banging his empty wine bottle into the wine cooler as though trying to smash it, although this was also for attention. He was with a lady who I thought he was trying to impress. She was laughing at his behaviour but they were both drunk too. What made it worse is that two senior staff members knew him and sat with him yet when we left early because did him, they denied knowing him And their understanding of English became virtually non existent suddenly. I expressed how intimidating he was to the concierge who booked out table as I felt that strong about it. I never usually write reviews but that was an awful experience. Even the table next to us rushed to the bar to...
