Il Vinaino — Restaurant in Livorno

Wonderful bar with very friendly staff and sociable customers, well worth the visit. Lot's of friendly locals go here and it's easy to chat to people, don't worry about the language if you are not Italian. I have not tried the restaurant but will, I spend time in Livorno with the shipyard Benetti so I will have an opportunity soon. The main street here has lots of shops and a good atmosphere, Livorno has a nice character too -- not overly chic but with a good level of class and friendliness. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby along the canal, I bet that all are good because the Italians know hospitality really well -- you will eat well...

horrible experience. staff unfriendly, asked to described the selection of wine available to a friend who came to visit from russia and they said just read the list. now, I do understand you might be tired but it is 8pm and it is your job. by the way, also the wine on offer weren't so good therefore expensive for what they are offering. if I should recommend this place to tourists and...

Locale molto carino, patti buoni e molti vini in carta (quello che avevamo scelto non era disponibile ma succede, sempre meglio farlo presente prima comunque) ma... 15€ il piatto di acciughe in olio evo con stracciatella e crostini al burro è un vergogna. Almeno in una città che fa dicerti prodotti la propria tradizione. Presentare un piatto si carino, ma con acciughe di importazione (presentate dentro un vasetto con impressa la scritta "espana", palesemente non a uso decorativo ma provenienti proprio da quel vasetto, a Livorno!!!) olio evo (se anche fosse) di qualità infima e quattro fette di baguette calda con burro e stracciatella a parte. Difficilmente può fregare anche chi non è del mestiere e non sa i prezzoi di quei prodotti, 15 euro, lo ribadisco, sono un furto e un errore che mi porta a pensarci due volte prima tornare, che ripeto, si guadagna la sufficienza per la gentilezza della cameriera, l'arredamento ormai comune ma gradevole e gli altri due piatti discreti. lascia...
