This was such an experience to forget. They had a table at the far end of the alley that appealed to us with our 6 month old (in case he kicked up a fuss) but we absolutely regret sitting down. There was one member of staff who was quite friendly. The waitress that served us initially never stayed for more than 2 seconds, even when you're talking to her she'd walk away.
I either ordered the wrong dish or they got the order wrong but we ended up apologising for it and got charged full price for it. (Which is almost understandable) But the food was bland when it arrived. The other dish we ordered was not nice and had a dead mosquito inside it so we weren't finishing it anyway. The olives at the start smelt really off. The bread was fine.
Of course the first waitress had absolutely nothing to say about any of this and we just never felt welcome. They have the location unfortunately so people will keep dining with them.
Honestly I hate leaving bad reviews but if you're reading this then hopefully we've just saved you...
Read moreThe location in a small street is pretty cute. But don't let yourself get lured by the setting. Unfortunately the owner is taking advantage of tourists. We took one plate of pasta and one plate of ribs on the daily menu. There was no price announced, but we were shocked when we were charged 13 EUR given the other pasta plate on the regular card were between 7 and 9 EUR and the plates were quite small! The food was not bad, but no were close to being worth that price. Also, the waiter (probably the owner) gave mediocre service and her hand/nail with which she was holding the inside of the plate was disgusting/dirty. Then we were charged 3 EUR each for the coperto which is more than what was announced on the menu. I really feel bad about not complaining on the spot... So I hope others won't fall into this disgraceful tourist trap unworthy of the Italian...
Read moreWalking through the nice little streets of Locorotondo, we came across a little restaurant.
We sat down, ordered 2 aperol spritz and a bottle of sparkling water.
All fine until we asked for the bill. First the lady brought us a bill of just 24 euro’s without any specifications. She probably saw on my face I did not like this. She came with a written bill (see photo below). 20 fkn euro’s for 2 aperol spritz in the south of Italy! We’ve been here for a while and even on the most touristy places this only costs 7-8 euro’s. They also billed us 2 euro’s coperto (eventhough we did not eat anything, but ok no problem with this).
This restaurant is not honest with prices to tourists!
My advice is to absolutely not go here! After reading some reviews, It only confirmed my feeling!
I asked the lady to see the menu, see refused and just told us it costs 10...
