My husband and I were drooling when we saw the beautiful pizzas as we strolled by and couldn’t wait to dine here ourselves. Today we were able to have a pleasant lunch and ordered a salsiccia e friarielli pizza and a mortazza, plus a beer and a glass of house white wine. The pizza was the star of the show, truly spectacular. Both pizzas have the chewy, salty crust (not too salty—just right!) that you can only find in Italy. The Mortazza was our favorite. We are not accustomed to finishing a whole pizza each, but we did our best. I noticed other patrons enjoying aperol spritzes, so I asked for one as well and gave my wine to my husband. Everything had been great to that point. What was a bit disappointing however, was not long after my spritz was brought out—I’d taken maybe two sips—the waitress asked me if I wanted a coffee or digestive. I pointed to my drink and smiled, telling her I was just starting on my drink. A few minutes later, she came out and asked me if I was still working on my pizza—and honestly I wasn’t sure, I was just enjoying the atmosphere with my husband and nibbling the pizza. Again, my drink was still half full at that time, so clearly I wasn’t ready to leave. I had the impression she wanted us to hurry up and leave the table. Usually the customer has to ask for additional service or for the check in Italy, don’t they? So, full marks for the food and atmosphere, and one star off for staff pressuring clients to get out, which spoiled our visit to this otherwise stellar pizzeria.

High quality, neapolitan style pizza with a lovely puffy crust (cornicione), a tasty dough (based on biga and fermented 24-48 hours), San Marzano D.O.P based tomato sauce and a great selection of cheese available, incl. mozzarella, bufala mozzarella and straciatella pugliese. The other ingredients are high quality as well, and the pizza come at a good price, resulting in great overall value for money! This is not the most calm and «cozy» restaurant, but if you are looking for the best neapolitan style pizza In Lucca, you should definitely pay a visit!

This pizzeria is absolutely fantastic! The pizza is authentic, delicious, and cooked to perfection with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The crust is crispy yet soft, and the toppings are perfectly balanced. The atmosphere at the square is very inviting. The staff is friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do, which really adds to the overall experience. The service is quick, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. If you're a pizza lover, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Decent pizza place in the walled city of Lucca. We had lunch here, ordered their premium pizza (served on a focaccia) with stracciatella cheese and mortadella and a normal vegetarian pizza. To be honest their focaccia was a bit hard and could have been much better. The vegetarian pizza was normal and nothing great either. The flavor were average. The location is very nice, in the middle of the walled city near a nice square with the market and center of the old town close by. No parking as this is in the ZTL zone or restricted area where normal cars are not allowed. So you will need to park outside the walled city or ZTL zone and...
