Pizzeria Bar da Franchino — Restaurant in Lucca

I strongly don't recommend this place. The older guy took us from the street and females decided to stay here for dinner but it was wrong idea. The service level is below any standards and food was disgusting. On the photo you see lasagne that looked horrible and was very small. Other dishes were ugly and disgusting as well. Piza was small and hard to eat and potato's chips that we wanted for 3 children sitting in different places not next to each other were given on 1 plate. We didn't receive any other plates for 2 children although we asked for it twice. Children were crying because of this! We had also several times dishes not ordered by us that we had to return. Finally we received not our bill! We gave it to people who were sitting behind us. All together the final score is only 2 stars and no recommendation from me. 1 extra star just for good mood of the older guy, but there are better places where...

The location is good, but the food and service were just ok.

We ordered a cheese platter as a starter to share followed by our main meal of a pizza for me, and a salad for my wife. My wife speaks pretty fluent Italian so there was no miscommunication. It was late afternoon, and we were the only people eating.

Unfortunately, my meal came before the starter so we asked the server to take it back. Next, the starter was delivered and before we were halfway finished with it, my wife's main course was brought to the table. We finished the starter and my wife started on her salad, but my pizza did not arrive until my wife was almost finished with her salad.

There are so many other better locations in Lucca, that I would not recommend spending your time...

The spicy salami pizza was great, especially the cracker thin crispy crust, made for an enjoyable eat. The hamburger was decent; not to generalize but most of them I've had outside the US taste relatively similar, so I know not to hold it to the same regard. Sure could the service be improved, yes, but every place was packed at 1300 on a beautiful Saturday, so it's not fair to be too harsh as I'm sure other places would've been the same.
